“Great place to celebrate a kids birthday, however...”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

If you want your kid to feel like everyone in the world is excited it is his or her birthday, take them to Beaches. From the moment you walk in they are acknowledged with their name up on a sign, special menus printed with their name at the top, everyone wishes them happy birthday by name. It is the best alternative to Red Robin we have found for the celebration factor.

The down side to Beaches, for the adults, is the food is not so great. The Caesar salad was fairly tasteless and I am not sure it was even a caesar dressing that was on it. The basket of bread they bring you was more dried out than toasted. The parmesan crisp tasted like it was made a few days earlier.

This place is also very loud as there is no separation between the bar and the dining room. We happened to make reservations during happy hour and it was busy and very loud. A few happy hour guests were talking a bit inappropriately considering they were within ear shot of families.

I would only return for a celebration, keeping in mind that it is for the kids and can endure a less than acceptable culinary experience for that fact.

“Best Happy Hour in Town”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

The restaurant has great food, and great view of Columbia River, but for light meals they have the best food offers in town. The prices range from $2.50 to $5. They are smaller portions, but you could order different stuffs for great price. The fish & chips and calamari are among my favorites. This place is so popular for happy hour, so if you don't like noisy place better be there when they started at 3pm and leave before 4pm, because that's when people start to come. Avoid weekends for happy hour because this place can be seriously noisy.

“Outside is the only way”
Reviewed April 16, 2012

Food is so-so. Used to be better. Very loud inside. Unable to converse easily with the person across the table from me. Great view outside! I refuse to go unless I can sit outside (I can at least speak with the person I came with out there).
