Young nice staffers here. We were just going to share one bucket but our waitress sold us on buying the bucket for two. We ate until we just could not eat any more.

The food was ok. The drinks are huge and pricy. But for my group, it was too noisy. Customers were very inconsiderate.

Our group of 7 stopped by this Joe's crab shack on the way back from an event at 10 pm on a Thurs night. It was open until 12. We took a seat at a picnic table near the other few patrons out on the patio. An employee came and told us "Actually, it is isn't open seating! Your hostess will seat you." So we stood back up. As we waited for the hostess, the same employee said "that section is closed" as she waved her arm toward all the picnic tables, which are all on the waterside of the deck. She then waved her arm at the tables that were away from the water and said the hostess would seat us over there. These were tables for 4 with umbrellas that looked hard to move to bring two tables together. Was our group supposed to split up? Then finally a host came and we asked if we could sit at a picnic table, and he said no problem and seated us at one. Then the waitress came and she too complained that we were seated at a picnic table which was "closed" (she indicated the picnic table that we had first tried to sit down at and said that was the open one?? She said everything on the east side of the deck was closed, whereas the first lady said everything on the south side was closed-- oh my goodness! Just give us a table we can sit at!) and she said that because it was closed it wasn't set up right, which was a apparently a huge inconvenience for her. She went on to clarify that she meant it didn't have salt, pepper, buckets (it had all these things). We were considering just leaving but we were hungry. At some point, she did stop complaining about our table, and instead was falsely peppy and condescending- like that waiter with the flair in Office Space. The music was loud but I didn't mind much. Food was okay. A mouse, and later a rat, scurried by near our table. Those who ordered sodas never got refills, but those who ordered beer were given the opportunity to order more beer. We didn't finish because we just wanted to go. We really had the feeling that we were bothering them by even coming to the restaurant. The next morning, the people in our party who ate clams were sick, but I suppose that could be a coincidence.

Enjoy the same view at the friendly Who Song's next door. But they close at 10, so arrive earlier than we did.

The one star is for the refund the manager gave us for one of the entrees. I ordered a steamed crab bucket with none of their flavoring which was a mistake. With nothing covering the flavor of this not so fresh crab, the off taste made me afraid that it was not fit for consumption. The restaurant had dirty dishes covering many of the tables even though it appeared to have more staff than customers. Instead of providing excellent service, the wait staff were milling around and gossiping about customers and the management. It is also very very expensive and you will leave hungry.
