. Close to downtown. Parking a little dicey but if you make it on days when the Sat. market is not happening, its easier. There are some good places to eat close by.. Very easy access from I-5

“Vancouver Livingroom!”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Esther Short is essentially Vancouver's living room and plays host to many festivals and events. My kids love the playground and in the warmer months the water feature is a nice treat from the summer heat.

“Beautiful, Centrally located park”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is our 'first' city park and it covers the area of four downtown city blocks. At the southeast corner is a beautiful plaza with a carillon/clock tower surrounded by cool pools and another nearby "creek" style fountain with stair-stepping falls - all of which are quite wade-able by small children. There is a frequently used bandstand/stage for concerts. On weekends from Spring to Fall, the Vancouver Farmers Market occupies the west side of the park and side street. Its a very nice way to spend a Saturday morning with the family.

“Gorgeous Park”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is a lovely open park with something for everyone. Kids can enjoy a large play structure on the north side or a water fountain on the south side. It stretches a few city blocks of downtown Vancouver. Leashed dogs are welcome. There are events all year long. Here is a calendar of events for 2014: http://www.cityofvancouver.us/calendar/month/2014-08

“Summer Concerts”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

One of the nicest events that the City of Vancouver sponsors is the Summer Concerts at Esther Short Park. Past bands have included KC & The Sunshine Band, the Beach Boys and the Temptations! Most venues are free or a nomincal entrance fee. Kids are welcome! Grab a blanket, a couple of low sandchairs and your picnic. Nothing better than kickin off your shoes and dancing in the grass!
