My wife and I really enjoy Mongolian BBQ and were quite pleased to see one open up near our home.
We have been there twice and will not return.
The first time was for lunch on a weekday and were not impressed or unimpressed.
The second time was for lunch on a weekend and was surprised to be told that they charge dinner prices all day Saturday and Sunday. The higher cost ($3) should mean a better or bigger selection, right? WRONG! The exact same selection as lunch on a weekday, just more expensive.
One of the first things you'll notice is that you have to pay first and hand your money over a jar that has "TIPS" written on it in four inch letters.
All mongolian grills have a tip plate for the cook(s) and we always tip a buck or two each.
The next thing you'll notice is everyrthing is self service....drinks, soup, rice, wraps, etc. (the wraps are just piled under a plastic lid, so you'll be enjoying whatever was on the fingers of the person before you). So who is the tip jar for? There are no servers...just the cook, the cashier and whoever is bussing the tables
This is the only BBQ I've been to that has the vegetables BEFORE the meats. I'm sure the intent is to have us fill up our bowls with the yard work and leave less room for the meat.
The food selection is about what you'd expect at a mongolian BBQ...except the trays are about half the size and therefore quite often empty or close to it.
Keep an eye on your food as it is being cooked because they don't have you wait in the order it was taken.
On our last visit, my wife came up empty handed. We think the cook scooped up two small piles onto one plate. So she had to go back and start over and I had a luke warm lunch.
There are quite a few GOOD Mongolian BBQ's within 5-10 minutes of Yummy's...take the time to go to one of those
