“It's worth a visit....”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

If you and / or your family are interested in history, you’ll like this visit. Frankly, I learned a lot. You learn about regional history, and how it integrates with US history.

“Real History”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Captain Vancouver would be proud of his old/new fort. Recreated so well and with great information guides. Located sooooclose to I-5 and also the old homes along Evergreen Blvd. with stately homes and trees. You can almost hear and feel the "old timers" Also stop and have lunch at The Grant House. You won't be sorry.

“Regional Historical Site with extras”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

Conveniently located just off I-5 and a pleasant rest stop. Just passing through? Take an hour break, stretch your legs, and see how the early settlers lived and stayed safe along the Columbia River.

The fort is "cool" and the re-creations are interesting. It's especially great for the kids (6+).

“Historic Site Still in Need of Develpment”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

This is a site worth visiting because of its historic significance. We did not get to see the Aerial Museum, which was closed on our Monday visit, and that looks special. Most of the buildings in the site are not open to the public, and many are boarded up, at least in early June. The fort itself has a number of operating buildings in the 1840's era with operating woodworking shop, blacksmith shop, and clerical office. But there is a lot of open space with nothing. If you are in the area with time, then you should see this site. But the other tourist attractions in Oregon are worthy of priority.
