“Rude and poor service.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

I have stayed in a few hotels in Williston. This one is the worst by far. First the sevice is beyond. You will stand at the front desk for 10-15 minutes at a time just waiting for someone to come. Finally on my 3rd and last day here at this rotten motel, I could here the lady upstairs having a conversation with another co-worker. I walked upstairs and there she was,I stood there for a minute waiting for to finish talking and she stopped and looked at me very rudely and can I help you! I said yes. I have been waiting at the front desk for you almost 15 minutes and now you have a good size line there too. She said very rudely, go back to the desk and I will get when I'm done. I walked back down there and could still hear what she was saying upstairs. The two employees were comparing there children with each other. Nothing work related.! 7-8 minutes later she returned the the front desk, never apologized or nothing, was very snooty and sharp. I just told her I will be checking out and moving to another hotel with better work ethics and manners. She said FINE very sarcasticly. The breakfast is almost nothing. Yeah, u save $10-$20 per night but I would rather have a nice bed to sleep in and have better service and someone who at the very least acts as though there grateful to have my business. Another thing, if u work nights, they start that vacuum at 7am and continues till about 4pm. These rooms are not insulated well at all.

The room was quiet, bed was comfy, and the room was clean. The only negative was the breakfast, which was simply awful. The only choice for hot food was waffles. But the waffle-maker burned one side and didn't cook the other. Juice was out, but I found more in the refrigerator. Limited fruit, the bakery items looked old so didn't try them. The coffee was warm.

Stayed here on a business trip in spite of the reviews because it was the only hotel in town with availability. Not clean and run down. The room smelled musty and smoky and the towels were stained yellow and brown. Staff was extremely unfriendly. After seeing the room, I tried to get my money back but the staff refused.

Passed through Williston on our way to Sturgis just last week for the motorcycle rally. There were 8 of us booked here, and the booking was made several months ago. We were apprehensive of the motel due to negative reviews, however, due to the shortage of rooms in Williston, were happy to take the chance and just have a place to sleep. I am happy to report, that the room was clean, the beds were VERY comfortable, the place was quiet and served us just fine for a quick trip through town. Note - if you are late, the door to reception is locked and you will have to buzz to get into the motel. This may be due to added security which is a good thing, as the town has turned into a mini-Ft. McMurry with the oil industry and influx of workers. So, if you need a place for a quiet overnight and not to be confused with a luxury holiday stay, this place is just fine. The breakfast bar is a little weak however.

We checked in on July 6th 2012, and upon opening our room door, we were hit with a very strong odor, stale smoke/barroom. I went back to the front desk and told the clerk about it, she first said that no one had smoked in the room and she couldn't do anything, so when I insisted that she move us, she admitted that they had been having a problem with an odor in that room (#229), and couldn't get rid of it. I had booked our room 11 Months before, and tried to get changed to a different room, but she wouldn't budge. She sent some spray to mask the odor, but I woke the next morning with a stuffy head. The room seemed clean, but was small with no nightstand or light on my side. Breakfast was ok, with fresh waffles, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, etc.

Room Tip: Ask for any room except #229

this place is a dump and the owners should be ashamed of operating a business like this, if they didn't have haliburton staying there to cover the empty rooms it would be empty period, mold in the walls and ceilings, too

If you're looking to stay in a hotel in Williston, you're going to have a tough time finding a hotel with vacancies. Our stay in this Super 8 (4 nights) was, well, not bad----not bad at all, especially if you consider the town we're talking about. The hotel is old, you can see that the moment you drive in the parking lot. The rooms are small, the premises well-worn, but if you've come to Williston, ND for a purpose, you already know things are going to be tough here. What made this hotel stand out was it's excellent staff - the front desk personnel are cheerful and helpful. The cleaning staff does a remarkable job. Breakfast is sorta bare bones but adequate. The beds are comfortable. The pool clean, warm, and safe. I stayed here with my daughter and 4 young children who were in the process of moving to Williston to be with their dad. We were expecting the worst out of lodgings that are mostly used by tough, single, male oil workers, but found that Super 8 has put together a staff here that's equal to the challenge.

Room Tip: Just GETTING a room will be a challenge, so don't try to do it online. Call the hotel directly...
