“Outstanding Italian Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

My wife and I have dined at The Franklin for many years and eat there often. Phil offers all the traditional favorites in addition to daily specials. The portions are huge, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. They also sell their home made Italian pastries. When you are in Central NY you don't want to miss this dining experience!

“When in Rome - go to the Franklin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

Spent a week end in Rome, NY and with the help of friends found "The Place" to eat. From the minute we stepped inside - ambience. Walking by the long bar and smelling the treats being served we knew we were already satisfied. I had sausage & peppers over spaghetti, and my wife had a spectacular veal dish. Huge portions. If we were to come back to Rome, our first stop would be the Franklin.

“Some of the best "real" Italian served in the Mohawk Valley”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

The Franklin Hotel is a real gem in Rome, NY. Well known by locals, who pack it's dining area daily to enjoy wonderful, home-cooked Italian food that tastes like it's straight from Nonni's Sunday afternoon dinner table! Bring your appetite, because the portions aren't stingy! And save room for their homemade Italian desserts!

“Great Lasagna”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Stopped here for dinner and tried the lasagna. Huge portion and the red sauce was tasty. Comes with a side salad and their homemade bread for less than 10.00. Definitely will be back. Decor shabby chic!

“Franklin's secret”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

The Franklin is a very nice little place to eat lunch. The food was really fine. I had a pancetta, chicken and broccoli pasta with a nice butter-garlic-white wine sauce that was out-o-sight! Their take on Italian "greens" is also savory. Not being from the Rome area, these were a totally new treat to try.

The place has its own bakery too, and a good one. The lunch portions are pretty generous. So plan to take some of your meal home to leave room for the tiramisu, "lobster claws", and other bakery delights.
