There are a lot of good restaurants in the area, including those at the Turning Stone Casino... but, we enjoy eating here at the Franklin. And our guests did too! We lived in Italy, and find the Franklin's cuisine is very competitive to that of the old world. This is NOT a pizza or spaghetti House, though they do have such items on their menu. It is just so much more!

Please take note of the bakery items when you enter. The last course in my opinion is a very special treat. Everything you taste is made from scratch in their kitchen.

fresh bread on the table with garlic butter, great prices for specials and regular menu items. not just 2 or 3 specials, but 8 or 10 specials every day. we don't get there often for dinner, but dinner prices are also reasonable. excellent selection of italian pastries always available.

The Franklin Hotel is an institution in Rome, NY. If you want a hearty, authentic italian meal, then you have to visit the Franklin Hotel. It's not super fancy, glitzy or glamorous. You can put any of that on a plate.

The food is just fantastic. People travel from all around to dine at the Franklin. You should give it a try.

Best food in Rome, NY.

This restaurant has always been considered the working mans place to eat. It's a come as you are, home cooking, large portions, fairly priced, place to eat. The main dining room could use some updating, but there is a newer room for group parties. Don't leave without trying their famous greens and make sure to take home a desert!

I have been to the Franklin many times for lunch, dinner, banquets and the bakery. The decor is simple and old fashioned. The food is consistently excellent "home cooking" with generous portions and extensive menu options including daily specials. The simple "corner bar" atmosphere is friendly and adequate. The pastries and desserts are the best in the area. A great family restaurant with a good banquet facility as well.
