The cemetery is a must see. Everyone must see this. You will be impressed by the show of valor and honor present at the site. May God continue to bless America.

Beautiful cemetery! We didn't find the grave for the "Hanging Judge"! But, he is said to be buried here!

All grave sites have the same white head stone. There is easy assess in and out. The veteran's burial ceremonies last no longer than 30 minutes. It is captivating.

The Fort Smith National Cemetary is one of the most beautiful national cemetaries in the county. It is a must see around holidays, especially during the Christmas season when it is decorated with wreaths and at patriotic holidays when it i decorated with American flags.

The Fort Smith National Cemetery is a very most beautiful Military Cemetery that dates back to a time of much history. A known fact that is goes back to the Civil War Era and possible that it can go back even more. It is open to the public and there is never a charge to get in. Just remember that this is an active cemetery and that it is still used today. It is currently being added on to for the future.
The best time to go and see the National Cemetery is at Christmas when Wal-Mart donates all of the wreaths for each of the headstones and is a breathtaking experience to see and take pictures of to share with others. Many men has been buried there that gave their lives for our freedom and our rights.
It is not traveled heavily so it is not hard to get in and out of if that is a concern. At Christmas there will be some extra traffic. It is where you can get around any other automobiles, but trust me you will want to park and see how very beautiful that it is and knowing each and every man gave up his Christmas for not only you but your family as well. Yes it can be sad but at the same time the love each and every man had to protect all of us is worth the moment that you spend looking over.
In the spring and summer it is very well manicured and still hold the beauty for I do not think anything can take the beauty away from such a place, tears or not it is a stop that Fort Smith has to offer and one of them that will always remembered for all of time.
If there was a way to make this a ten star this would be one of them and you will want to
sure of it's hours of operations. It is gated and guarded as well.
This is a place that you can take all members of your family, young, old, couples, friends, and even by yourself and even your teens will always hold the memory of The Fort Smith National Cemetery.
