we visited on a rainy day so I am sure we missed some of the outdoor exhibits, but this place is still a number 1 attraction for the area. The museum is well thought out and informative. Don't forget to take the ear piece so you can do the audio tour. This site touches on just how wild the west was and how this town and courthouse was the law in an otherwise lawless land. We came away learning so much and I recommend everyone visit here.

As a former teacher, I have taken several groups here on field trips and have visited with my own family. Fascinating place where you'll learn a lot.

We had a wonderful tour of this unique National Historic Site. The museum was excellent and it is important to mention that it is one of the few sites dedicated to the nation's judicial foundations.

Quite a fascinating place.

The "hanging judge's" courtroom, the gallows display, and many well-done exhibits are the highlights of a visit to this National Park. It is almost downtown Fort Smith, right by the river and has a large outdoor park area. Inside the visitor's center are the displays noted above. The rangers are very enthused and helpful, and the place is extremely neat and clean and well maintained. Informative and well worth the stop if you are in the area. A little difficult to locate--our GPS sent us to an old empty warehouse about a 1/4 mile away.

Viewing the exterior grounds is free. To see the indoor exhibits, the admission fee is $4 per person, unless you have an NPS pass. The exhibits were nice and informative.
