“A little disappointed”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

I was expecting better rooms being this is a Marriott brand hotel.

Positives- (not in any particular order)
*rooms were VERY clean (I did the Hotel Impossible inspection)
*clean parking area
*felt safe
*fresh backed cookies and lemonade upon arrival
*clean pool
*friendly staff (day and night shift)
*Nice (free) breakfast- minus the biscuits and gravy... GAK!
*reasonable price

Negatives-
*beds seemed old and were sagging terribly in the middle. Probably one of the most uncomfortable beds I've EVER slept in!
*bathrooms were like a shoebox in size
*people above us sounded like a herd of elephant walking around until 12:30am
*pool wasn't heated
*finding the ice machine was like going on a treasure hunt (YOU NEED SIGNS!)
*unstable internet connection (barely got a connection in my room)
*no microwave or fridge
*biscuits and gravy tasted horrible
*kids took over the pool
*same kids took over lobby computers for facebook
*same kids ate all the popcorn. I had to ask for fresh popcorn, then he didn't salt it.

Room Tip: STAY ON THE TOP FLOOR! Otherwise you'll hear EVERYTHING going on above you!

This older Fairfield has great staff who greet you and genuinely seem to want to help. The property, whilst a little dated, is well maintained and offers great value for money in a good location.

The Manager's reception, which offered soup, salad, cheese and bread during our stay, was very welcome and the fresh cookies at reception were yummy. Breakfast was also good and we liked individual packs of cereal and a choice of waffle irons (you could make small ones). They also offered Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and other usual items you would expect.

On past visits to Savannah we have stayed at expensive hotels in the historic district. I won't do that again but I would return to this particular Fairfield. Two nights after this stay we stayed at a new Fairfield which, although nice, felt very impersonal and it made us comment how important are the staff and the interaction with guests. The one at Lee Road, Savannah is blessed with great staff.

True the bathroom is small, but there is everything you need for a good short stay. We really enjoyed this place.

We slept one night in this hotel. Customer service was outstanding! After arriving at nearly 4am after searching endlessly for a room inthr area, we were greeted by a friendly attending. She even offered us food after noticing we were desperately looking for a bite to eat from the vending machine. Nice and simple rooms and the breakfast was better than most other hotels. Sometimes is worth it to pay a little more.

The room was small and the breakfast was not good and the price is to high. I left my charger in the room and they stole it from me. I recommend not to stay there when you leave things and go back to retrieve your items, they say the housekeeper did not turn nothing in.. I had to go buy another charger. The hotel cost me money do not stay, they will get you for your money and your things. The only thing i like about the hotel was you get to check out at 12 instead of 11..

We dropped by while driving back to Florida. The rooms were fine and the staff very friendly, and the price was good. As usual, there was a breakfast. If you've been to a Fairfield Inn, this is pretty typical for the chain: good price, decent breakfast, and a good location to get to the river.

Room Tip: Third floor has inside doorways; first and second open to the outside. Again, typical Fairfield Inn...

We stayed in a Fairfield Inn in Northern Georgia six months ago that was very nice, it must have been new. We were so disappointed when we checked into the Fairfeild Inn Midtown Savannah. The rooms are very small, and are not that clean, the Hotel needs to be updated badly. We would have check out, but knew we were not going to be in the room that much so we stayed. Sure did hate to come back to the room at night. I couldn't believe they didn't even have refrigerators, or microwaves. The Fairfield Inn in Northern Georgia was twenty five or thirty five dollars cheaper then the one in Savannah, the one in Savannah is way over priced.
The only thing good about this hotel was the Staff they were very nice, and the breakfast bar was OK. Ken and Emma

Room Tip: I would not recommend staying at this hotel at all.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very pleasant, called us by name when checking in. The breakfast is very good. They have Jimmy Dean products, biscuits and gravy, waffles plus all the "cold breakfast" food like cereal, muffins etc. Oatmeal with walnuts, brown sugar, raisens. Beverly is in charge of breakfast and she will see that you have everything you need. She was helping guests use the microwave to heat eggs etc. Always making sure that everyone had been served. She even helped a guest put together a light breakfast to take back to the room for someone who wasn't feeling well. Breakfast is also served plenty late, until 10 AM on weekends. The BIG surprise was a complimentary snack cart that came to our room around 7 PM. Everyone gets to pick 2 snacks each (snack and drink). What a nice touch. No matter when you come or go during the day, there is always ice water and lemonade. The rooms are clean, plenty of parking, very safe. OK - it is not brand new but the nice staff and extra effort to make sure everyone is having a good stay is worth it. Our room was comfortable and clean. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to have your room key to go anyway, even to use the stairway. Advice - when you check in, get everyone in your party their own key.

Room Tip: Three story hotel. The hotel is not that big so there is no strategy to getting a room located in a...
