We stayed at this hotel, based on reviews from TripAdvisor. Once again, TripAdvisor came through for us! This was our first visit to Savannah.

It's more expensive to stay in the historic district, but worth it to not have to drive from somewhere else and try to find parking--and then pay for it. We paid for hotel valet parking, instead of parking in the garage across the street, because we felt it would be safer. We never used our car, and were able to walk everywhere we needed to go.

The concierge at the hotel recommended we take the Old Town Trolley hop-on/hop-off tour. There are 2 other trolley companies, and she felt this was the best one because all of their trollies take the same route and the drivers (who are the tour guides) are very informative. She gave us a discount, and we were very pleased with the Old Town Trolley tour. The pleasant surprise with any trolley company is that the trolley stop is right outside the hotel, which was very convenient.

This hotel is across from the main eating/shopping area of historic Savannah. We just walked across the street, and took the steps (an elevator is available) down to the river walk area.

Along the river walk, we ate at Tubby's Seafood (outside patio is available), The Cotton Exchange, and Boar's Head restaurants. All were recommended by friends, and we were very pleased. We took the free water taxi between 3 hotels and the convention center.

The front-desk staff were all very friendly. Gerry, the manager, graciously helped us move to another room. (See our Room Tips comment.) The free breakfast is great, and has a wide variety of food.

Room Tip: We were put in Room 618, which is fairly close to the elevators. However, the elevators were not sup...

The staff, the room, the town.....Savannah is a great place to spend your down time. The hotel is just across the street from the River District with shops, music and great restaurants. We go there at least once a year to just unwind!

We had never been to Savannah before and really picked a wonderful hotel for our trip. Great people in reservations as well as every employee we came in contact with. Very friendly and helpful. They bend over backwards to help with everything. Our room was beautiful with a great view and we were given a late check out when we asked so we could spend a few more hours in this beautiful city. The location was perfect for where ever we wanted to go, especially close to the river. Very nice breakfast comes with the price of the room.

Room Tip: For a couple dollars extra you can get a room on the top floor with a great view.

Very clean hotel in the old town of Savannah. The lady at the front desk seemed a little grumpy at our arriwal. We stayed in a double room with to queen size beds. We would have slept like children in those if it wasnt for the noice from the AC. Consider to change perhaps? We would like to stay here again if the road take us " Deep South"

We enjoyed staying at this hotel a lot! It is in a great location, especially for our first visit to Savannah. The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. We felt welcomed. The rooms are clean and we had a nice view of the water from our room.

The morning self-serve breakfast is included in the price and was very good! I loved the fresh fruit and berries, doughnuts, sausage, hash brown potatoes, omelets, waffles, cereal, coffee, juices, yogurts and more! It was one of the best free hot breakfasts that I have at a hotel throughout my many years of traveling.

The only negative or downside comment that I have to make is about our hotel bathroom. It lacked good ventilation and smelled a bit musty. But, that would not keep me from going back to this particular hotel on my return to Savannah.

Room Tip: Request a room with a historic view on one of the top floors. It may cost a little more, but it is...

We were given a room on Bay St on the third floor. About 4:30 am the traffic woke me out of a sound sleep and that was it for the night, traffic never stopped. Maybe this should be told upon check in so a back side room can be offered. The free egg and sausage breakfast was absolutely cold and thrown out. The drain in the bathtub was broken and the water was up to my ankles until I reached thru the water and the drain plug was broken and came up with my hand. The toilet "phantom" flushed all night. All in all the hotel was beautiful, valets were friendly and accommodating, but the rest of the stay was awful.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper do not get a room on Bay St.
