Stayed here for four nights to explore Savannah. I don't think for the price I could have picked a better spot. Out the back door is Reynold's square and the Olde Pink House. One more block past the square to Leopold's Ice Cream. One more block to Colonial Park Cemetery. Across the street in the other direction are the steps down to the River Street district and Old Savannah Tours has a stop right at the hotel. You really don't need a car to stay here. The hotel itself is typical Hampton Inn, very clean and well kept. Typical breakfast. This hotel does have a concierge in the lobby which is very nice, she keeps a book with menues from many of the restaurants in the area.

Room Tip: If you are on Bay street side of hotel (front) may want a higher floor because of street noise. However this is only side with a view.

This is a good Hampton Inn. Looks to have been refurbished quite recently. Clean and tidy. Helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Great location for Historic District. We had a room on the opposite side of the hotel to the East Bay Street which didn't have the traffic noise but the air con unit of the hotel could be heard in our room - mind you it was 105 degrees, so expect it was working overtime. It wasn't so load that it disturbed us however. Beds were really comfortable, as you find in most Hampton Inns. All in all, a reliable choice.

The hotel was wonderful. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at any hotel anywhere. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The only have valet parking, but there is a public garage directly across the street which is less expensive than the valet.

The only negative is it was a little pricey (though not compared to other hotels in the area). If my company hadn't paid, I wouldn't have picked it fo myself due to the price.

First of all, the hotel was in a GREAT location.
Location - It was a 5-10 minute walk to city market, Lady and Son (Paula Dean's Restaurant), and shops (M by Marc Jacobs).
Decor- The hotel is in a historic district and is definitely reflected in the decor. It is a Hampton Inn. Don't expect more than average when it comes to esthetics.
Food- The free breakfast served was decent considering it was free. Quite a few options to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure you are early since the line gets very long after 9am. Many local restaurants within a 5-10 minute walking distance.
Parking- There was sufficient parking. The main parking lot is rather small, but there is an overflow lot that is quite large and seemed to accomadate to a sold out weekend.
FYI- If using a GPS to look for this hotel, make sure you spell out Martin Luther King or else you will be in an undesirable area of town.
If you are looking for a modern sleek looking hotel, this is not the hotel for you. This was definitely a nice hotel for a family on a budget that is looking for the convience of location.

Room Tip: Noisier room facing the MLK.

Me, my husband, and two school age children, stayed at the Hampton Inn for two nights while traveling. Our main goal was to visit the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low. While we were there we visited three museums and walked around the historic district. I loved that everything was in walking distance from the hotel. We could have hopped on a trolley but there really was no need. We didn't go on any of the bus tours but we saw plenty in the two days we were there. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were pretty small for two people to share but we managed to sleep in them anyway. The bathrooms were a nice size and clean too. I would have liked to have drawers in the vanity to put some of our toiletries but there is a shelf underneath that worked out okay. The front desk staff was very helpful and the valet parking attendants were very professional. The rooftop pool was a nice bonus. Clean and not too crowded while we were there. Pool towels are super tiny so you might want to grab a couple to dry off with. The continental breakfast had a nice selection. We always found a table in the breakfast area though my young daughter and I had to share a chair b/c there weren't enough to go around. Overall if I returned to Savannah's historic district I would gladly book a room at this hotel.
