“Great Stay”

The location of Planters Inn is perfect for getting around all of Savannah easily! It is located on one of the squares which is a very beautiful setting. There is some street noise on the weekends but you have to consider you are downtown. The accommodations are very nice and very clean. We had one maintenance problem that was fixed very quickly. We loved the amenities at Planters Inn! The wine, cheese and fruit reception in the evenings is an excellent touch. However, the food goes quickly so get there early. We met Karen, their concierge, at the reception and she is extremely helpful in providing information and making any necessary reservations. The continental breakfast is very convenient but very "budget hotel" type food, however, it gets you fed. The valet parking is very convenient considering there seems to be very little parking. We will definitely stay at Planters Inn on our next visit to Savannah!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with one of the balconies overlooking the square.

Great location, easy walking to anywhre in the historic district. The staff were friendly, imformative and professional. The only issue that kept this from a "5 " across the board was the room across from the garage on Congress St. Very loud at 2PM to 4PM as people were leaving. We will return but to the other side of the hotel. Must do... "The Old Pink House" for lunch or dinner.

Room Tip: We will return, great place and staff. Get a room away from the garage on Congress St as the noise f...

A few blocks from the riverfront, Reynolds Square is close to a lot of shopping, dining and entertainment. You drive up in front of the door, the valet takes your bags and parks your car. It costs $13 a day to park, but you can go in and out as much as you want. I must say the valets and bellhops did not stand and hold out there hands for tips. You almost had to force them to take something. The lobby is small, but classy. They have afternoon wine and munchies, coffee available most of the day and a piano, but no one played while we were there. The room was large, very modern, clean and well equipped. Service at every turn was superb. The continental breakfast was extensive, but did not include any meat. Did have eggs, waffles, grits, fruit, cereal, etc. I would stay here again if I came back to Savannah. The Olde Pink House restaurant is right next door and we ended up eating there both nights we were there. They also act as room service in the hotel for a $5 delivery charge.

The Planters Inn is a perfect location in the middle of the Historic District, yet close for walking to downtown and the Riverwalk. We loved the complimentary breakfast each morning, the early evening wine, strawberries, and cheese reception, and then warm cookies when we arrived back at the Inn late evening! Our large double queen bedded room (poster beds) was beautiful, very clean and comfortable for three women--loved the double sinks in the bathroom when getting ready. Karen, our Concierge, was very helpful and friendly and arranged our dinner reservations and tours. We all decided there was not a more perfect place to stay in Savannah for our four nights--thank you for a wonderful time.

Room Tip: Room 211 was quiet, larger room at back corner of Inn and windows were very large and sunny. Weath...

Combination of great location, price, and comfortable room is hard to find in the downtown Savannah historic district, but Planters Inn fits the bill. You're within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, squares and the riverfront, yet it's located on a very quiet and peaceful square. We thought our room was just the right size, and found it in perfect, clean condition when we returned after long days of walking and exploring the city sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we had no complaints during our four-night stay. We'll visit again.

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Savannah, GA. Great weather, wonderful food, fabulous ghost walk, and very friendly people. The problem, I selected The Planters Inn based upon its high level of reviews. So here is the good, the bad, and the unacceptable. Great location in Reynolds Square - close to everything, especially Leopold's Ice Cream shop which you have to try. During the week, the hotel provided a nice wine and cheese spread at 5:30 and delicious cookies later in the evening. Also, shout out to Sam who provided excellent service. The bad - small rooms and small bathrooms. You probably will be out touring, eating and drinking so that should not be a major deterrent.

Now, the unacceptable. Upon check-in, we were directed to a twin room with two four-poster beds. My bed, was missing one of the post and had another post that was in disrepair. I called down to report it and a staff member arrived to confirm what I had reported (did they think I had fabricated the story within 5 minutes of my arrival?). He confirmed my story, stated maintenance would be there to repair the bed in the morning and let me know there were no other rooms to which to move me. The next day, the bed posts were replaced and repaired and I was offered the opportunity to move to another room. Decided not to move, since I and my traveling companion had unpacked and were anxious to continue our mini-vacation. I did, however, report that one of the rods to open and close the curtains was also in need of repair since it was in the corner with the bed post. That was never addressed, but again not a life changer. Finally however, on the third day, we awakened to find the ventilation system, air conditioner and bathroom fan were not working. Reported this problem and it was addressed within the day (not however without the manager indicating that the system was operational but had been turned off - again, an untrue statement since the system was simple enough to operate, requiring one to be able to move the fan switch to low/medium/high and regulate a temperature control - both of which I am confident a guest could manage). Now, although most matters were attended to and my requests were accommodated, the challenge here is its description as a boutique hotel with thoroughly modern features. One of its captions states, "it seems we've thought of everything". Based upon that description, I simply expected more. Upon my return to Savannah, a wonderful city to visit, the Planters Inn will not be a consideration.

Room Tip: Don't pick your room based upon the rate, although a decent price, the view from the twin rooms...

The Planters Inn is the perfect Inn if you want to be near everything! The staff is great and the room was very clean and quaint! It was our Anniversary and the Inn left a bottle of wine and two glasses in our room upon our return from the day out!

The only issue I had may just be total personal, but the mattress in our room wasn't comfortable to us, it may be perfect for others though so don't let that stand in your way of staying here!
