the hotel is ideally located in the historic district. Our courtyard suite (Juliette Gordon Lowe) was perfect for our visit. hotel staff is friendly & helpful. Breakfast buffet is great way to start the day. wine & cheese reception is basic, so don't go out of your way for it. Concierge is extremely helpful with dinner suggestions.

From the moment we pulled up to valet parking, to the moment, 3 days later, when our car was brought back to us, the Marshall House was awesome. Walking into the front doors felt like stepping back into time, and the cold, pink lemonade waiting for us was certainly a treat.

The room was not large, but it was well laid-out, and the claw-foot tub was a treat. Breakfast was the best we had on our 12 day road-trip, hot, plentiful, lots of choice - the quiche was incredible.

Staff was unfailing polite and charming, and the "living room" (it was so much more than a lobby!!) had comfy chairs to sit and read or people watch. You couldn't ask for a better location.

My only recommendation to the hotel is to figure out how to outfit the room with more plugs - people today are traveling with more electronics - and phones, cameras, computers - all need to be charged.

I traveled solo and from the minute I arrived to the minute I left-4 days later, I received exceptional service. Michelle at the front desk arranged tours, reserved play rickets and answered all of my questions with a smile. I had the petite queen which was very well appointed with a comfy bed and linens, mini fridge, flat screen TV, and really nice bathroom towels. I loved the traditional wooden floors and the overall decor of the inn. The inn is within walking distance to everything in the Historic District-literally just grab a map and go! The only thing I did not care for was the occasional load street noise but that is not the inns fault. If that would bother you, then I suggest a room on the back-side of the Inn or bring earplugs, which worked for me. Loved, Loved my stay!

Enjoyed the Marshall House for two reasons.... History and Staff. The location didn't hurt either!!!

Loved the feel of this historic property and enjoyed the welcoming nature of each staff member. Brant the Concierge deserves a special mention for his dedicated efforts and enthusiasm. Housekeeping staff were flawless in maintaining a clean environment.

Rooms are charming and fit the character of the property in general - preferred the rooms with clawfoot tub, though accessibility was not an issue for us. If WiFi is a concern, avoid rooms at the extremities of the building as signal is weak at these locations.

Breakfast was more than adequate, though not stellar by any means. Staff overseeing replenishing was very attentive, but quality and variety of offerings could have been better. Wine and cheese much appreciated, though should be offered daily and not just Sunday through Thursday to really stand out.

Had a car, but didn't really need it because all attractions in historic district were within easy access to property. Self park seemed to be the more economical option unless you plan to access vehicle multiple times during stay.

Overall were very pleased with Marshall House hospitality.

We are from Minnesota and have visited Savannah on 8 occasions. The Marshall House has been our regular lodging over the past 4-5 years.

It is located in the heart of downtown and very close to water views, shopping and walking tours. There is a city owned parking facility directly behind the hotel, which participates in the 48 hour Parking Pass program. Passes can be purchased at the Visitor Center and some of the garage locations.

The breakfast/eating area is a very comfortable setting and very adequate for your start to the day. The staff is very professional and accommodating. Rooms vary in size, but "fit" the rooms of the era. All in all, it is very difficult "to beat." There is a significant amount of history attached to this hotel.

Enjoy your visit!

Room Tip: Given a choice, I would ask for an "inside" room to avoid some of the street noise, but that has not been a significant concern.
