We booked this hotel for full price thru our travel agent expecting a riverview and a balcony. This hotel is in need of repair ...the paint is peeling, the rooms are small and the building looks like a brick plunked down in the middle of historic savannah. I was very disappointed that our room did not have a balcony. We were told this was included in $369 + fees price... alas the front desk clerk offered to move us for an extra $125/night . This is a convention hotel for someone who just needs a bed and has a company to pay the $$. The breakfast buffet is not good... save your money and walk down the street to Bakery express -yummy food. This was a family vacation for us - w/ a 4 year old and 21 month old - we loved savannah but hated the hotel.

Hyatt Regency Savannah was a good choice. I stayed there for only 1 night, but it was quite clean, quiet, and had a soft bed. That's all I can ask for. Decent view of the river behind it. In walking distance to the wildly famous and horribly crowded restaurant called The Lady and Sons. On Friday night, we did karaoke and drinks at the wild Bay Street Blues bar across the street.

I have stayed at the Hyatt twice in the last 6 months. Both times because it was the hotel for the functions.
The first room was cleaner than the second. The bed was comfortable, but the rooms needed updating. A refrigerator would also be nice.
The valet parking was easy and the check-in was quick. The bellmanThe staff at the front desk was not the friendliest. The staff at the bar was much nicer. Maybe because they were getting a tip.
I loved the views of the river and shops. The location was great and everything was within a short walk.
For the price of the rooms I would plan on staying somewhere else.

I'd never tried the hotwire/priceline type of booking, but I must say I was plesently surprised.

We did have one major glitch. We got there at just before 3:00 PM and they were so busy that our room wasn't ready. We had to check our lugage and walk around for an hour before they called us on our cell phone to tell us the room was ready. But we got a free breakfast for our inconvenience.

The hotel is old, but the room was in excelent shape with a comfortable bed. It was clean and well furnished.

The rooms overlooking the atrium can be a bit noisy.

I just got back from a great stay at the Hyatt in Savannah. My new husband and I went straight from our wedding to Savannah for a little weekend getaway. Everyone at the hotel was super friendly from beginning to end. We got a complimetary upgrade to a beautiful room on the 6th floor with a river view (the dress helped). They also sent up a complimetary bottle of champagne and chocolates. I worked in a hotel for years and know that this is common practice but it's nice nonetheless. Emma and Patricia at the front desk were exceptional as well as Herb the bellman. It was a pleasure from start to finish. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Savannah!

The hotel is in an excellent location on Bay street within walking distance of plenty of dining, shopping, and attractions. We did not check our car out again until we left Savannah.
The hotel rooms are standard, nothing exciting, but the location, amenities, and very friendly and helpful staff made this a perfect base for seeing Savannah.
We did think the daily parking charge was a little steep compared to some other places we've stayed downtown, but overall the comfort and quality of the stay was great.
We did book the room using priceline, so for us the value was excellent-not sure how I would compare it at full price to other hotels and inns in the immediate area.

This was a very nice hotel, in a great location. It was VERY expensive, we stayed for 2 nights, and had to PAY for parking $17.00 a night, and pay for internet access $9.99 for 24 hours. We chose it for the location, considering you can walk out of the rear of the hotel and be on River Street, where all the shops are. Also it's a close was to the City Market.
