The Hyatt on River Street is a great location to spend your time close to all of the action in the Historical district of Savannah. They were very accommodating, allowing me to check in early and to have a late check out when I was there on business for a one night stay. My room was very clean and offered great views of the river and the City Hall bell tower.

This is a very typical brick hotel, but it is located in the center of a historic neighborhood. For a business trip, it would be nice, but the neighborhood is composed of buildings that are hundreds of years old. Most guests are here to enjoy the historic heart of a city that was founded in 1732. This is one of very few modern, brick building in the area and does not have the charm to match the neighborhood. Their restaurants closed early enough that if you want an evening meal you had room service or were forced to go out again. Because of the neighborhood, there were a number of good restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: There are rooms that face the river.

We were driving from the North and booked this hotel because of it's proximity to all the restaurants. What a great location. The staff was so friendly and accommodating for our family of 5. The room was consistent with a Hyatt Regency and then some.... it was beautiful with amazing view of the bridge, water and city. We can't wait to go back. The kids didn't want to leave. Breakfast in the morning?? Outstanding!

Room Tip: We didn't ask for a water view but they gave us a partial one... ask for one if you can. If you are doing connecting rooms and it's not a busy time, ask if they have any upgrades. We ended up with a beautiful two room suite at same cost. Don't forget to ask if there is a family plan. We were able to get one and it greatly reduced our second room cost.

Our group just concluded four consecutive days of meetings at Hyatt Regency Savannah. This hotel is located in the historic waterfront area along the Savannah River. Many very good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel that provide a variety of lunch and dinner offerings. I had breakfast each morning in the Hyatt "Windows" restaurant that has great views of the Savannah River and the occassional cargo ships that pass by.

Audio-video equipment in our conference room worked great each day. Only negative thing was the morning coffee-tea table that our group paid for was set up outside our conference room doors in the hotel atruim common area . Apparently, many hotel guests that were not part of our group thought this was for their consumption because the coffee service ran dry much sooner than it should have. If your meeting room is on the first floor and you pay for coffee service, remember to request that the coffee service be set up inside your conference room.

Overall, very nice property with a geat location. Rooms are clean and quiet. All hotel personnel I came in contact with during the week were very pleasant and professional. Very good choice for business meetings.

First, this hotel is a great location in relation to the river and walking to a number of activities. However, for a Hyatt, I expected more. The hotel is a little dated and could use a remodel. I went to close my curtains one evening and they literally fell down from the ceiling. The rooms were fairly small as well. Savannah is a beautiful place - Hyatt needs to update the hotel to match.
