My husband and i just returned from a 4 day visit to Savannah, Georgia. First time in this city and it was a great experience. A big part of the enjoyment was Azalea Inn and Gardens where we stayed. The staff was so friendly and informative. Everyone helped us with planning our tours, dinners and what to see in the city. The best recommend we had was Day Clean black history tour. Our guide, Jamal, was well informed, entertaining and fun to be with. Thanks , Teresa, for that suggestion! The breakfasts were delicious but an added pleasure was the evening hor d'oeuvres and wine plus a late night fresh dessert. A great house with lots of history and very interesting murals in the dining room. We hope to return again.

I must also mention Savannah Tours - they provide a tour that gives you a great overview of what to see in the city. We especially enjoyed our driver/guide, Tina and her 'surprise passengers' of Johnny Mercer, Eli Whitney and Miss Alice.

Savannah is a great destination and Azalea Inn is a perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: We were in the Live Oak room which had a spacious balcony for outdoor sitting. Unfortunately, we wer...

We want each guest to have a fantastic experience no matter what they are looking for in a vacation. To this end, we try to tailor some of our recommendations to the guest’s taste and what experiences they may be looking for. Much thought goes into all of it and it is very satisfying that we are achieving the goal we set in making you happy. We will continue to give you fun, interesting suggestions each time you come, so start planning the next trip and we will give you more fun ideas for another great vacation!

We stayed at this beautiful Inn a couple of weeks ago and can't say more than has already been said. It has the complete package of southern hospitality & charm with beautiful rooms, amazing beds, knowledgeable owners and friendly staff and located on a slightly less busy street in the Historical District, so walkable to almost the whole area. We fell in love with Savannah while there and will return sooner rather than later and hold this Inn responsible for sprinkling us with magic dust!

What a really lovely review! We sincerely thank you for such kind and thoughtful words. And we do love the idea of the magic dust that we sprinkled you with during your visit here. Definitely come back for another dose of that soon! Walking around Savannah is probably one of the most loved things to do while guests are here. It is just a gorgeous city to walk around and admire the history, the culture, the parks and all of the fantastic architecture. And of course, don’t forget our food after a wonderful day of exploring the city! So many choices and like you mentioned, all within walking distance to the Inn. The renovations next door should be finished by the time you return and we look forward to showing you our fabulous space there that will offer the option of apartments for guests traveling with family, needing more space. They will all be equipped with full kitchens, dining area, living room, laundry and balconies. So hurry back!

Our first visit was in September 2013 and we loved the Inn so much we came back to celebrate my birthday. I wrote a review in September about how much I loved in the Inn and all the great people at the Inn that make it so special. I want to echo that review as we felt right at home again and received the best care and service. The food and conversations are great and we loved the Live Oak room. The Live Oak room has a great balcony and a wonderful fireplace. The Inn has the best sheets and this time we purchased them to take back home with us! Of course, Joey needs a mention as he is just the greatest little greeter. We will be back for another stay on our next visit to Savannah!

Room Tip: Live Oak has a great balcony and fireplace!

How lovely that you came back so soon and we are especially pleased that you chose to come back and celebrate your birthday! Savannah is such a gorgeous city and our weather is now getting nicer and nicer, so I am glad you could experience that and also still chilly enough to enjoy the fireplace. It makes it so cosy and romantic, doesn’t it? Savannah is a romantic city, so we do have take care of things on this end too!
Joey is happy that you enjoyed his greeting. He does love to run and greet each and every guest, and follow along on the welcome tour.
The next adventure you have here in Savannah you can try another room and we look forward to you being able to review each and every one of them with each trip!! Thanks again.

Top shelf is where you find the good stuff! Azalea Inn is a treasure in all the "commercial" aspects of visiting Savannah. Beautiful property...southern hospitality...white glove clean...pecan pancakes by Madison...welcomed by Joey...warm and friendly staff...inviting owner...you couldn't find anything equal on the top shelf.

Room Tip: Rooms viewing the pool are great.

Wow….how we loved this!! Top Shelf is a wonderful analogy and we are so very touched and proud that is the rating you have given us! We do work hard to make each of our guests stay very special and I am so happy to see that we are successful in that. We work constantly to keep up those standards and it is so fantastic to have them noticed and appreciated. Thank you so very much for the comments on the cleanliness (SUPER important to us!) and Madison will be so happy you enjoyed her pecan pancakes! Of course, most everyone does love the little guy (Joey!), and the key to this entire staff is the owner being so enthusiastic herself and making us all love it even that much more! So we are always happy when a guest notices these points. We so look forward to you returning and us surpassing even that wonderful ‘Top Shelf’ designation you have given us! That is always our goal, not just to do well, but exceed those goals! Savannah has so very much to offer, so hurry back!

After searching Savannah B&B's on the Web, we settled on Azalea Inn. It was a perfect choice. So welcoming, and off the tourist beat. We came to experience Savannah and the helpful staff made that happen. Azalea would be a great place to just hang out too. You wake up to the smell of a southern breakfast, and each morning we visited with other, interesting guests. Recommendations of restaurants, site seeing, etc. were right on. Make this your destination, for sure.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Canopy, with its private porch and king size bed, walk-in shower. All things that...

Thank you for such nice comments. We too love the location; we are a block away from historic Forsyth Park and still in the Historic District, but on the outskirts and we love the peacefulness of where we are. Wonderful that you loved and appreciated it also. It is also gratifying to see that you appreciated our suggestions on restaurants and site seeing. That always pleases us when our recommendations are spot on! We can’t wait for you to return and continue your adventures here at the Azalea and also in Savannah!

We so love our loyal, return guests!! It is like having family come to visit each year! Thanks so much for making Azalea part of your January each year. We love the location so close to the park also and walking around our beautiful city is one of our favorite things, so we can totally relate to how you feel about the peacefulness of it. January is a quiet time also, with everything still being a bit chilly and not as busy, so also a good time to visit if you are looking for quiet. Very happy also that you enjoy chatting with us and our food. Two of our favorite things also! Can’t wait for you to return again next year and explore some more what this beautiful little town of Savannah has to offer.

We are so happy that you enjoyed the house and the great stories! The mural is a wonderful conversation piece and something we are very proud of. We love showing it off and having everyone participate, looking for the various oddities in it! Thanks for the kind words. When a guest uses the word perfect in a review, it makes it extra special for us! Thank you for making our day with that! Please come again and enjoy the Inn and also more time touring beautiful Savannah.
