“Savannah gem”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

menus based on local producers so we wondered what a January meal would be like--a 5 star experience! terrific coq au vin with a rich gravy that I was dying to drink out of the bowl! husband swooned over his tender pork chop. a salad of arugula hothouse strawberries, pecan, blue cheese and bits of speck was the best salad I have ever eaten. Expensive but well worth it!!

“Good...for the most part”
Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

Brussels sprouts were amazing!!! Could have eaten a whole plate. Pork was delicious but the rice was bland and vegetables were undercooked. Husband had hanger steak which was good but not out of this world. Creme brûlée was delicious! Love that it is locally driven which increases their value.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Very hip venue if you want to experience a happening crowd. Food was fresh and presented well. The bar is apparently a place to see and be seen. The restaurant is loud, but a fun place to experience the hip part of Savannah.

“Great Food and Great Atmosphere! Rooftop Bar also!”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

LOVED LOVED LOVED! This place was amazing. They have a roof top bar with heaters in case the temperatures drop a little. So much fun! The food was great and so was the service. Their bread was fantastic. I ordered caesar salad, grilled shrimp with mac & cheese - just incredible!!! The salad had a little kick to it and I just loved it. Really good. The grilled shrimp was really good, but the Mac & Cheese was probably the best we all had ever tasted.

“Crowded, creative”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Local remains a leading favorite for 'locals' and the higher end of Savannah's 12 million tourists a year and should be on the list for good food and service for anyone who hasn't tried it yet. A truly creative menu, including farm-to-table ingredients, a chef willingness to push tastebuds with spicy as well as subtle flavors, and first rate fish and game as well as more traditional beef and chicken main courses. A salad and a first course can easily suffice for a dinner (mussels and any of the featured salads, for example) but the entrees are enticing including game and fresh caught-of-the-day. The front dining space is attractive and comfortable, the back room serviceable, if noisy when groups arrive, and the upper level bar with couches inviting in all but the coldest weather. Good wine list, excellent staff, first rate, attentive team work and no discernible turn-the-table hustle make it a fine choice for the evening.
