The hotel is in a great location. It is one block from City Market and about 2 blocks from the beginning of River Walk/shopping. The rooms are smaller, but nice. A great value for the money. Pet friendly!

Absolutely great location, just around the corner from the river, careful how you get to River St though. We checked in with no bother and were given a very nice room on the third floor at the rear, so we could just see the bridge and part of the river. Pretty good rate for hotel given the location and parking seemed to be included in the cost as we were not charged extra, prob because we had already booked with Best Western. The hotel is also just across the road to the last stop on the open top tour bus which is a must to do if you want to see the best of Savannah. Breakfast was very good and included sasage and scrambled egg which is always a bonus. Lovely stay, would come back to the area and the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the rear if possible.

We had the opportunity to spend 2 nights in Savannah and chose this hotel mostly for it's value and mostly favorable reviews. The hotel is on the end of Bay Street 1 block from River Street which is in the heart of the Historic District and convenient to everything.
The Good...Our room was very clean and well kept.We were on the front of the hotel facing Bay St and did not notice a lot of street noise. The beds were comfortable and the A unit worked flawlessly. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good as well with the usual hotel breakfast fare, Every thing was fresh and at the appropriate temperature for the items.

The Bad... The sink in the bathroom was very slow to drain, something that should have been noted and reported by housekeeping. There was a mini fridge in the room, always a plus but this on did not work. The electrical outlets on the base of 2 lamps were hanging out of the bases making a possible shock and fire hazard. The outlet for the AC unit in the wall was also pulled out from the wall. We did notify the desk of this at checkout and they advised they would notify maintenance. Also when we booked the room we were given a rate of 109 per night. When we got home and viewed our bill we were charged 109 for the first night and 129 for the second night. We called the desk back and were advised that their rates fluctuate daily. This really should be one of those things they tell you up front. I would stay there again but would be aware to check rates daily before booking .

Parking here is 12.00 per day which is pretty normal for the area.

At the BEST WESTERN PLUS Savannah Historic District it is always our goal to exceed the expectations of all of our guests. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed many amenities about our hotel but regret your poor experience with the timeliness of maintenance staff and the misunderstanding about rates. We do print on the signed registration card at checkin any change in rate for the stay but understand how that could be missed. We pride ourselves in providing outstanding service and accommodations and sincerely hope on your next visit to Savannah you will stay with us again!

Kind Regards,

Amanda Lange

We had a great stay at this property. The check in was great. The staff was very helpful. The room was very nice. The location was great. If you want a room in the back off the street just ask!
We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Yes, you have to pay for parking but it is less than other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor in the back and had a nice view of the bridge

This is a great hotel in the historic district. Most attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated with nice size tvs and wireless Internet. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast . Had a variety of things to choose from. Swimming pool was nice, although there was an issue with one of the doors going into the pool area. All in all this is a very nice hotel and we are looking forward to staying there again in the future!
