“50th Anniversary Gift Vacation”
Reviewed October 20, 2010

My brother and I brought our parents and family to this beautiful location and had a fantastic time. Delicious food, endless activities, and an ideal place to stay welcomed us in this Savannah rental. After estimating hotel cost, we realized that we could stay in this beautiful mansion for the same price! The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have garage parking. Everything met and exceeded my expectations, so much so that I have already booked the other property on Liberty for my son's graduation event. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was our second stay at the Carriage House at 511 East Broughton. We love it and plan on staying again and again. The location is perfect. The Carriage House is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities you could want. The courtyard is a wonderful plus. It is a great place for morning coffee or to relax after a long day. And, the house has a garage - what a terrific bonus in a city with cramped parking. We highly recommend 511 East Broughton for anyone considering a trip to Savannah.

We had previously stayed in another location owned by Mr. Bell called 109 West located at 109 West Liberty. Both carriage houses were very well done. We enjoyed our stay a great deal and found the carriage house on Broughton Street to be both comfortable and welcoming. We only had one minor problem while there - the fire alarm battery was going off because it needed to be replaced. The owner had someone there within the hour to fix it. Great service! We loved the bed - it was very comfortable. The bubble tub was very comfortable, also. We would love to stay at one of Mr. Bell's properties while staying in Savannah during our next visit.

Myself and 3 of my girlfriends stayed at the Carriage House for a must needed girls weekend in Savannah. When we arrived, the people in the main house had taken both parking spaces. I contacted the owner and he quickly resolved the problem and was very polite about it. The decor was beautiful and though it was cozy, it was very comfortable even with the 4 of us in there. I plan on looking this place up again the next time I am in Savannah.

My girlfriends and I had a lovely time in Savannah, and what made our trip memorable was being able to all be together in the beautiful Broughton Street house. It was spacious, cozy, centrally located, and gorgeous. We had plenty of room to spread out if we needed to, or great spaces to congregate and catch up!

My wife and I were in Savannah for our daughter's wedding and rented the house and carriage house at 511 E. Broughton Street for ourselves and other members of the wedding party. Both locations were wonderful and worked out better than hoped for. The young folks had a place to hang out in the carriage house, and the older crowd got the house. The location is easy walking distance to downtown, the property is well furnished and maintained and exactly as advertised. We will rent the carriage house for ourselves on our next trip to Savannah.

We had four couples - three in the main house and one in the carriage house, all in Savannah for the first time. The decor was superb in all the rooms. Staying at 511 E Broughton meant that enjoying historic Savannah didn't have to stop when we went "home" for the day. The artwork, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and brick courtyard all contributed to the feeling of living in a little piece of historic Savannah.

The location was wonderful - the only time we got in the car was for a grocery run to Kroger (about 1 mile away) and an afternoon trip to Tybee Island (about 30 minutes). We walked to the visitors center, Forsyth Park, all of River Street and City Market, and we were within just a couple blocks to Leopold's Ice Cream shop, and Cha Bella - our new favorite Savannah restaurant. The view looking out is not really that impressive, but we didn't go to Savannah to see the city through windows.

The house's features were wonderful. The internet connection was great for us first-time visitors checking out reviews, and the garage even fit a full-size GMC Savannah van with a couple inches to spare. The dining room fit the eight of us around the table with no problem, and the living room fit the eight of us around the center table for a lively game night. The carriage house got rave reviews from my sister and brother-in-law. It is not the cheapest place to stay, but it was certainly worth it for us. Robbie and Helen made sure we had what we needed, and were very kind in more ways than one.
