This hotel is located in the heart of old Savannah. Ther rooms are extremely clean and the service is great. My wife and I had room 220 and were very comfortable. The rooms have internet, microwave, small refrigerator, king bed sofa and table and a nice bathroom.

The hotel is elegant for a chain - beautiful wooden floors in lobby, exposed brick thru out main level. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Convenient location, you can walk everywhere - do not need a car to get around the historic district. We had a sitting room, kitchen area with microwave, mini-refrigerator and sink in the small hall leading into the room. Beautiful bath with granite counter tops. Flat screen tv could be viewed from the very confortable bed or sitting room. Breakfast is what you would expect - overcooked scrambled eggs, precooked french toast, etc. But fruit and cereal and different breads ready to toast were always on the bar.

First, the good. Great location near the Cotton Exchange, riverfront and the Old Pink House, a great local restaurant. Friendly staff, a good free breakfast, and nice rooms. I asked for a river view and got room 218, which does sort of have a river view if you look carefully through the trees. Altogether a good experience for the first day, BUT - and now the bad - on our second night I woke at 2 a.m. from a dream in which someone was screwing down huge rusty bolts using a sledgehammer. Skree-eeeee, BANG, eeeek-skreeeeeek, BA-DOOM. Slowly I realized I was no longer dreaming, and the sound was real. Finally we narrowed it down to the large HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS sign bolted to a right-angle bracket which in turn was bolted against our outside wall. The sign, just outside our window, was swinging on chain links, randomly making loud bizarre haunted sounds in the wind. We tried making tea and putting in earplugs, but the old coffee pod had been left in our coffee maker from the morning before, making our tea less than satisfactory. The sounds were simply too loud to block out. We called the front desk, only to be told there were no rooms we could move to. Finally we prevailed and were given another room, and tried to hang a do-not-disturb notice on the outside of the door of our old room - but no notice was available, which we found strange. The management was considerate the next morning but this is an obvious and avoidable problem that the management is well aware of and that has not fixed. Basically, the hotel is great, its location is outstanding, and if you avoid room 218 you should be in pretty good shape.

We stayed in this hotel on Sept 10 and 11, 2008. The hotel is
very nice. Our view was great from our room. We were on the eight floor and looked out over River Street and the river.
The staff was very helpful. Although at check in there was only
one person at the desk on the phone and checking in people.
The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean.

This was such a beautiful hotel and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We requested a river view when making the reservations, but upon arrival we did not have one. Make sure to recheck your request before arriving. The rooms were beautifully decorated, very clean, well furnished- ref. iron & ironing board, Micowave, hairdryer, and plenty of linens(even had a phone in the bathroom). Had a great pool & exercise room. The location was best of all. The staff even had fresh fruit out in the lobby for guests.Covered parking. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

During a road trip of the south, we stayed two nights at this hotel. Great location and wonderful staff! The complimentary breakfast was very good too. Definitely worth the reasonable rates for this hotel.

Staff was amazing...friendly, helpful, went out of their way to accomodate. Hotel was clean, new, great location...across the street from river walk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They certainly well represented Savannah as charming and gracious.
