Each year we travel back and forth from Florida to NY. We have stopped in Savannah before but this was our best time there even though the weather could have been better. What made it special was this hotel. The location was wonderful with great view of the waterfront and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Most important was the quality of service. The staff was well trained and very courteous. We felt very much at home. The rooms were very clean, nice size and comfortable bedding with updated decor. If it isn't new it definitely looks new. Breakfast was one of the best , including a choice of hot foods as well as cereals, yogurt , fruits and pastries along with coffee and juices. Beautiful seating area with lots of seating. There is a roof top pool that we didn't get a chance to use but looked great. One tip for those who are money minded. There is a hotel parking fee of $20, but for seven dollars you can self park in the lot right next to the hotel. We were told it is where the valet park the cars. You can bring your luggage into the hotel and just turn around and go next door to the lot. We were only staying for one night so it worked for us. We have decided that next year on our way home this will be our hotel of choice. We will be back and probably spend more than one night!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor view of River St and water. Beautiful

This hotel has a great location. Just cross the street and you are on the river walk. The hotel staff was great at check in and was able to steer us to the Cotton Exchange for a great lunch to start our vacation. We stayed only 2 days in Savannah and I am not picky about room location as we were only in the room to sleep. Room is all brand new but one thing that is odd is the bathroom. The room is small and the bathroom door opens into the bathroom, blocking either the vanity or the toilet depending on how far you open it. We went to check out the trolley around 4 PM and because it was an on/off trolley and late in the day we were given 2 days for the price of one. We did the 90 minute tour from 4:30 til 6 to scope out the whole city and then rode it again the next day, stopping at various parts of the city. We barhopped both nights and had a great time in the many bars along the river walk and Bay Street. The location of our hotel made all of these so easy. Wasn't impressed with the hotel bar but the breakfast had an abundance of choices, including pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage etc. My eggs were cold on the second morning (they are heated under a lamp) but do big deal.

This is a newer hotel in the historic district of Savannah, Ga. It has an unbelievable view from the rooftop pool area. My room was on the eight floor and that view was almost as good as the view from the roof. The hotel was modern but blended with the historic area. Parking is convient in the city run parking lot adjacent to the property. They had a large and clear area for the complimentary breakfast served each day. Hot water for tea was available all day along with coffee in the breakfast area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleased with our decision to stay here during our trip.

Room Tip: Be sure to park your own car in the paid lot behind the hotel, this is the same lot they use and you...

My husband and I vacationed in Savannah, and stayed four nights at the Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were modern and very clean. The included breakfast was plentiful and always fresh. The only negative was that on several mornings, there were groups of people at tables who were clearly finished their breakfast but chose to linger to read, answer emails, talk, etc. even when others were wandering around looking for an empty table! This is no fault of the hotel, just a symptom of how inconsiderate some people can be.

The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful, going out of their way to answer questions. The front desk staff made dinner and trolley tour reservations for us and never steered us wrong! The location could not have been more convenient to the historic district. There were a couple of days where our car did not move from the garage. Make sure to stop at the Visitors Center (on MLK Blvd) and purchase a parking pass. It cost $6.00/24 hours and we used it for the gargage next to the hotel - which charges $12.00/24 hours!

Room Tip: If you are looking for a quiet room, ask for one not facing Bay Street.

This was our second time back to this hotel. We stayed here in January had had such great service, we decided to make this our hotel every time we come to Savannah. I booked 2 rooms for us and another couple from Wyoming. The hotel gave us both corner rooms with excellent views of River Street. The rooms were clean and fresh and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel is the perfect place to stay if you want to be right in the middle of the historic district and within waling distance of all the sites and great restaurants. The pool area on the top of the building was very relaxing and we were able to sit and visit with our friends from Wyoming all while embracing a panoramic rooftop view of historic Savannah. The breakfast area was well stocked with all my favorites from the HIE lineup and the coffee and the food was fresh and always hot This hotel will be are hotel of choice on every visit to Savannah.

Room Tip: Get a corner room on a high floor for a great view and a quiet nights sleep.

I have become a loyal fan of the Holiday Inn Express in the historic area of Savannah, GA. It is by far one of the nicest Holiday inn properties in the south. Gustavo, the bartender made our trip. He was super friendly, resourceful and of course served us some great drinks! A great place to stay!

Great location, very helpful staff and one of the best expanded continental breakfasts in mainstream hotels we have experienced. Room 423 was on the alley, quiet from street but it backed onto the elevator/vending machine/ice machine. Rooftop/hot tub pool was nice. The 4-10pm bar wasn't great; had a nice drink the first night but on the second night we dropped in at 8:30 and it was closed. We purchased the package with three tours and wouldn't do that again as the Juliete Gordon Lowe House was lame, as was the riverboat cruise, however the Old Town Trolley was excellent. We would stay there again for sure but not in 423.

Room Tip: The "23" rooms back onto the elevator/ice machine and vending machines.
