Had a great 2 night stay. We were in a King, corner with a view. Room was big and loved the 4 windows. The shower was a nice size. This hotel is in an EXCELLENT location. Walking distance to just about everything. The staff was AWESOME. Hope goes out of her way to make sure everything is just right.

Room Tip: King, corner with a view.

Recently enjoyed a 2 night stay here. Stayed in a Queen bed, corner room which was attractively decorated, clean and comfortable. The only possible drawback, was the complete lack of a view; our room faced the multistorey car park. This didn't bother us, although we did over hear another guest complaining to reception staff about this.
However the staff member at reception (sorry didn't get her name), handled this brilliantly and the guest went away satisfied. All front of house staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was well stocked, even up to the last minute.
The hotel is in an excellent position for walking around the Historic District and river front area, with very convenient parking - tip: don't use valet parking ($17 per day), park it yourself in the exact same carpark for $10.
While you're in Savannah make sure you try "Smooth" on Bull St, for your daily fruit smoothies, local info and a friendly chat, and get fab honey based gifts at Savannah Bee on W Broughton!

My husband attended a convention in Savannah in August, and we stayed at this very comfortable, very convenient hotel for 6 days. The experience couldn't have been better. The free breakfast was really good -- much tastier and more substantial than a continental breakfast, and the dining area had plenty of room. We didn't use the pool, so I can't comment on that (although it was on the roof, and the views from up there were spectacular). The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, the wi-fi worked well, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the location -- the riverfront was just across the street, and there were a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance. (Tip for art lovers: there's an extremely talented Haitian artist who sells paintings on River Street. His name is Jean Claude Martin, and his paintings are amazing.) The historic district of Savannah is worth seeing, and most of it is within an easy walk of this hotel -- even in the August heat. My husband's convention was a success, and I had a great time exploring Savannah.

We stayed Sept 13th and 14th, 2011. The location is in the heart of the historical area of SAV, and you can walk or trolley to anywhere. But what we found about the hotel to be most satisfying was the service, at check in we really didn't like our room location, went down to the front desk and Olga gladly set us up in another one over Bay St. that had a patio, at no extra charge or any hesitation. She was very sweet.

We had planned on bar hopping through out the area, but once we met Becki in the hotels tavern, we did the majority of our drinking there, she was so helpful with tips on where to eat and things to see and do. She maintains a close knit personable atmosphere that's conducive to people getting to know each other, and your beverage never goes empty, she's truly an asset to that hotel, may want to keep her around.

Overall the hotel was very nice, rooms very comfy, breakfast was good and plentiful, and it has a great rooftop pool and hot-tub. Living in ATL now we will be frequent visitors to SAV and the H.I.E will be our choice for lodging. And if we're unable to book there, we'll for sure stop by and have beer with Becki.

Great location. We used the parking garage next door AND we purchased a "Day Pass" Parking Card next door which was $12 and we were able to use it for 48 hrs at any local garage or parking meter. What a deal! I believe a 24 hr parking pass can be purchased also. The rooftop swimming pool was open on Sept. 18. The breakfast buffet had real eggs, a very cool pancake machine, crisp bacon & sausage, biscuits & gravy...and much more. The manager, Alfons, was exceptionally welcoming, helpful and courteous. The hotel was in a great location. The hotel & rooms were very clean and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: A "view" is a view of the river...but it also has an expressway on the view side. Don'...
