“Thought this was a tea house”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

Been to Savannah many times and finally got to the Gryphon! I thought this was a tea room, but had to ask for the tea menu. Decided not to do tea as their selection left a lot to be desired. However...the food we did order was amazing! I highly recommend it! Their Southern Cobb Salad was incredible! It is a quaint, quiet place with a creative menu. Owned and operated by Savannah College of Art and Design it was obvious that students were hired as wait staff, but they do a nice job. As others have said the decor is refurb pharmacy gone classy with the quality feel of old wood and stained glass. Linen table covers just make everything classy! I would not recommend this venue for children.

“Very nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

As long as you go to this restaurant with the proper expectations, you will enjoy your experience. This is a student-run restaurant. They are learning. You shouldn't expect 5-star service. You should expect people who are trying to refine their skills.

The service is very good. The only issues we had were a delay in our server answering a food allergy question and there was an extra iced tea on our bill. Otherwise, everyone was friendly, timing was good and the experience overall was very enjoyable.

Every person at our table (6 of us) enjoyed our dish. I had the cobb salad and could eat that every single day.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a fun lunch experience.

“Fun and perfect for the area!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

The Gryphon Tea Room is a must when in Savannah. The atmosphere is devine and like no other! Old pharmacy from back in the day and designed to keep the look and feel of old-time pharmacy days. Food is good and just a relaxing place to stop in. Enjoy!

“Lunch Treat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

Wonderful re-purposed pharmacy. Tiffany lamps and panels, dark wood and a player piano! Imaginative menu with attentive service. Was a bit pricey for lunch but the interior design touches were wonderful. Owned and operated by Savannah College of Art & Design which explains the creative touches. Definitely recommend for a leisurely lunch.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

Stumbled upon the Tea Room whe on a visit to Savannah with my daughter checking out SCAD. What a great stumble! Lunch was excellent and the server was a SCAD student. Oh and did I mention the food was excellent!
