Laura was our guide...excellent! The kids loved the idea of riding in a hearse...alive! Laura kept it interesting but didn't freak the kids out so they couldn't sleep at night and every parent appreciates that!!! Definetly a must do! Thanks Laura!!! Oh, and we did have our own ghost encounter at the Olde Harbour Inn. Someone rang the door bell and made spooky ghost sounds in the intercom and noone was there! I am a beliver now!!!

I was a little skeptical about riding in a hearse, especially since the company converts used ones. Our driver said that over 9,000 corpses had been moved in our vehicle! I definitely enjoyed myself once we got to driving around though. Several people on sidewalks make ghosts sounds at us, and one man in one of the squares played the death march on his sax as we drove by. The driver was great! Very theatrical, but not cheesy. He stopped several times and pointed out things about the locations of the ghost stories. We even got out and walked around a few of the places. Out tour started at 10:45, and when we made our reservation we were encouraged to go get drinks first. The open container law is pretty lenient so we brought wine and sipped it throughout the ride. This is a very fun way to tour Savannah!!

My husband and I took several tours on our recent trip to Savannah and this one was our favorite. Our tour guide, Mike was very enthusiastic about about the history of the city and I did not feel like he was reciting a script. He stopped at several points, got out of the car and pointed out exactly what he wanted us to see. It was so much more than just a narrated drive!
The cost was very reasonable and even cheaper than the walking tour we took.
The coolest thing though, is that while we were stopped at the monument to Oglethorpe from the Jewish community, we took a picture of the monument that upon closer inspection revealed a man in Colonial clothing. No one was anywhere near the monument when we took the picture and certainly no one in Colonial clothing.
We would recommend this tour to anyone taking a trip to Savannah.

We took the last tour at 10:45pm and were picked up by a converted hearse (open air) that holds about eight passengers. We climbed up into the back of the hearse and sat on these swivelly seats. Probably the only time we'll travel in a hearse sitting up. Our tour guide Brett told us ghostly history while traveling through the historic district. He also peppered in his own personal experiences through the tour. Late night gave us the bonus of drunk patrons from the river walk bars feeling the need to interact. They waved, shouted errie warnings and scarry noises at us. Best was peeking in the windows of the Pirate's House restaurant while Brett told us about the different ghostly encounters the staff and patrons have had. Also circling the dimly lit square where a woman was hung. She was hung at night so as not to disturb the public's sensibilities(!?!).
Reasonably priced tour. Brett was a great tour guide. Picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Encouraged to bring our own libation (legal in Savannah). Not your straight-laced tour.

My friends and I just visited Savannah GA to celebrate a 50th birthday. Savannah is awesome in itsself, however, the highlight of our trip was a ride in the hearse from Hearse Ghost Tours. Laura, our guide was so much fun and informative. We will definitely do this again and can highly recommend this activity. It was not so scary that you lose sleep, but just enough that made you think twice about walking down that alley after dinner. Love ya Laura! Porter - Party of Three - Birthday Celebration!!
