Savannah is one of the most haunted cities in the world, and what better way to see it and hear about its spooky history than riding around in an actual hearse that has been converted to carry more than one passenger in the rear compartment? We had the fabulous Dawn of the Dead as our hostess, and we were very happy with our tour. She has a wonderful, spooky voice and provided a lot of interesting information regarding the history of the city, various buildings, and the people who lived (and died!) there as we drove through town. We had four adults and four teenagers, and we all agreed this was one of the highlights of our trip. At $15 for a tour that lasts an hour and a half, it is well worth the money. We highly recommend this tour.

Savannah has many ghost tours types and this is definitely the goofiest. By luck we got Pegleg as our driver and he is a bit of a trip and added to the campy fun. So when you sign up for a tour in a converted hearse what do you expect? What you should expect is a rickety seating position in the converted bed fo the hearse where you struggle to get comfortable (the side wall is too tight to place you arm at your side comfortably and too high to place it on side wall) and a circling approach to telling you stories about particular haunted houses. Amusingly there are other hearse in action so these will be buzzing by you at different times.

Pegleg's canned delivery, strange idioms, and halting speech when he goes off script are all part of the fun. Oh and the whole tour is $15 for a bit over an hour of tour time. My review comes from the value proposition - for a little more than the price of a movie this is good fun deal.

Took the hearse ghost tour with Peg Leg Ron! It was fantastic. Very informative and fun. Lots of history but nothing too scary. Covered a lot of ground in a small amount of time. Ron was wonderful and answered all questions that we had. Even helped us pose for pictures! I was very happy with the tour and recommend it highly. Thanks Ron for a great tour!!

Savannah is probably the best place to do a ghost tour as there is so much history behind it. And if your going to do a ghost tour, why not do it in a hearse?! It was fun adding the extra creepy element of a hearse. I will also say that this is the cheapest tour I saw. Nils was our driver and he had plenty of humor and history to throw our way. I did feel it was more a historical tour with some stories thrown in than a scare your pants off ghost hunt. I did hear that Peg Leg Ron is worth requesting. Just a tip, the seating is a bit cramped. I am 5'6 and 118 lbs and felt a bit cramped initially so I couldn't imagine being taller or heavier. Another fyi is that they don't accept payment until the end of the tour and if your paying with a credit card, they use the old school carbon paper machine. Happy touring!

We were staying at a haunted inn (Foley House Inn) so it was doubly cool when we were picked up at our front door by a hearse.

Our driver was Laura and she did a great job telling us about the spooky places on our tour. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and was well worth it!
