I took a gaggle of Girl Scouts to this hotel - a total of 9 girl and 8 mothers. They were sold out of rooms with double beds so we all had kings with pull-out couches. The rooms were clean and in good repair. The rooms were quite large, and included a coffee-maker, fridge, bar sink and microwave. They refreshed coffee daily and also included a bag of microwave popcorn. They offer free coffee and tea in the lobby all day and night, and have free chocolate-chip cookies at 4 and 7 pm.

A free breakfast is served daily (a nice option when traveling with kids) and included waffles, bacon/sausage, eggs, hot oatmeal and toppings, yogurt, cereal, muffins and bagels, fresh cut fruit, bananas, coffee with flavored creamers and tea. It gets crowded in the breakfast area but they seem to work to keep things filled and the tables clean.

Parking is a bit of a pain - they have a small lot and the overflow is across the street, but it's only a slight inconvenience. They do have an area for 10-minute parking to load an unload, as well as carts to help with luggage.

The staff seemed friendly and never appeared to be as exasperated as they must have felt at times. Many Girl Scout troops were staying there, as well as kids in town for a soccer tournament. Despite a lot of hallway activity (expected with so many kids staying there), the rooms were quiet and seemed well-insulated for noise.

I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Savannah. Although you are not right in the middle of the action, you are within a 10 minute walk of everything you would want to see. We found it to be a great value for our Troop.

Greetings,

We are so glad that your Girl Scout Troop enjoyed thier stay with us! We see Girl Scout Troops often at our property and truly enjoy having them here. We apologize for the parking incovenience. Our parking situation is only temporary, as we are building a brand new Embassy Suites hotel directly behind us. Thank you for being so understanding throughout our construction period and we will be sure to have ample parking for your next stay! :)

Thank you,

Management

My daughter and I stayed here while attending a SCAD event day. It was the perfect choice. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think every single staff member we encountered during our stay at least said hello. Our room was large and comfortable with two queen beds and a sitting area. The bathroom was spotless. We have stayed at plenty of hotels that offer a free breakfast but none as extensive and tasty as what we were offered here. It had plenty to offer from very healthy to very not! It was too chilly for the pool, but it was lovely to be able to sit out by it. We didn't use the gym, but checked it out and while it was small it was clean and had a treadmill, bike, elliptical and weight are - all one really needs.

The location of the hotel is ideal for a SCAD visit. It was only a 15 minute walk to the main event area and the walk is pleasant. If you have a freshman student it is only 5 minutes to get to the dorm areas for freshman. The SCAD museum is a block away. Walking to River Street, Bay Street or the shopping district is a bit further, but the walk is so pleasant that I can't imagine getting there any other way. Maybe if the temperatures are soaring you might opt for different transportation, but on a nice day take the walk. Savannah is a beautiful town to walk around in the historic district.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor facing Martin Luther King. The room was spacious and nice with two queens...

This hotel was clean, the staff friendly and courteous, and the free breakfast was full of good choices for adults and kids. We were in walking distance of the historic district and the Riverfront . We will stay here again on future visits. The only criticism was that the "library room" was not cleaned or swept during our 4 day stay as evidenced by the crumbs left on the floor.

Room Tip: If you are booking a king bedroom get a suite . It is much more spacious than the "normal"...

We had a great stay. My husband and I went for a conference and took our kids with us. The suite was very nice, with a countertop and bar sink over the fridge and microwave. Very convenient! Everything was super clean. The location of the hotel is fantastic. It was an 8 or 10 minute walk to River Street. We could walk everywhere we needed to go.

The front desk staff went out of their way to allow us to stay very late on checkout day. We had final meetings to attend, and our children needed naps before we left. It was perfect and so convenient that they let us stay for an extra late checkout. I was also told when I made the reservation that they didn't have cribs, but I saw it on the website and asked after check in, and someone brought one right up! Everything was great.

The location and free parking is a plus. My wife and I were able to walk mostly everywhere and enjoy the great weather while touring the area. We stayed in rm 222 and it was clean and well kept. As for the staff they were attentive and cheerful as expected. I would definitely re-book this hotel on our next visit to savannah.

We stayed for five nights here for New Years vacation. Staff is very friendly and the continental breakfast has a large variety of food. The first night I was booked in the wrong room, non-smoking and the room was by the elevators and lobby with a street view of the 25 connector so cars were right outside the window. Was very noisy. They were sold out that night but moved us to the room I booked for the remainder of our stay which was a smoking room on the 5th floor with a view of the bridge. Unless you like to rise when the sun does, try not to stay on the ground floor as a lot of traffic is outside of the hotel. Other than that the hotel was wonderful and I don't quite understand why so many people want to stay so close to River Street. This hotel was perfect as it was almost centrally located between the north and south historic districts. Rooms are clean and spacious with refrigerators. Parking is a lot affordable than a lot of the other hotels closer to the river. Would definitely stay here again!
