“"Lush, charming, beautiful - Loved it!"”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

What a delight! Monique, the owner, is a lovely woman with a charming heritage house of her own and many well-behaved dogs - great to get our doggy fix when travelling away from our own. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was so beautiful and comfortable, with a washer/dryer (bonus!) and a magic garden out back. The idea of having desserts for the evening and breakfast for the next morning delivered to us was novel and fit our non-schedule perfectly - and the food was delicious. We had a car, which was handy for going to the gym in the mornings, but otherwise we could walk to everything easily. We'd absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone travelling through Savannah. Thank you, Monique!

Room Tip: Garden Suite was beautiful, comfortable and perfect for the two of us.

We loved staying at the Armstrong Inns Bed & Breakfast. Monique was incredibly sweet and accommodating and our rooms were warm and cozy. The decor was homey and personal with many beautiful paintings done by Monique's husband. We rented the Garden Cottage and upstairs rooms in the Garden Cottage and the Tatnall House. If you want a true Savannah experience, stay away from the larger hotels. From our accommodations, we walked everywhere and we truly felt that we were able to experience the beauty of the city by staying a bit away from the main streets and having the chance to walk and admire the beautiful old Savannah homes.

What a beautiful American family you are. It was fun to serve your family spread out in all the inns – like neighbors. I could tell you enjoyed your family reunion in our beautiful Historic District.
To all of you who stayed in the Jenkins House, the Chatham Suite, the Garden Suite and the Tattnall House : My best wishes for a very prosperous New Year filled with Joy and Love and Good Health.
Yours truly,
Monique Armstrong

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Armstrong Inns Chatham Suite for 5 nights. It was a truly delightful experience. Let me begin by saying, if you want charming accommodations, excellent food, and privacy, this is the choice for you.
Our suite consisted of a lovely living room, dining area and kitchen downstairs and a bedroom and new bath upstairs. There are 3 gas fireplaces and two balconies as well. The home was built in the 1850's and all of the original character was retained.
Monique, the owner, surprised us by decorating a beautiful live tree for the holidays. It truly added to our festive feeling. Doreen, the chef, prepared delicious and varied breakfasts and treats for us. We heated the breakfasts at our leisure the next day. Yum!
The location of the Inn could not have been better. Our suite faced Chatham Square, one of many beautiful squares to enjoy throughout the city. We were in the heart of the historic district and were able to walk everywhere. Rarely did we move our car from its off-street location.
Savannah has so much to offer. There is beautiful architecture, excellent restaurants, wonderful historic sights, museums, theaters and friendly people.
If you are planning a trip to the wonderful city of Savannah, I would highly recommended
staying at the Armstrong Inns.

Our experience at the Jenkins House was a true treat. We travel over 100 days, out of the year, all over the world and it was so nice to be in a place that felt like home. The decor is so warm and welcoming and well decorated for the holidays. The two fireplaces gave wonderful ambiance and warmth. The fully stocked private kitchen, where all I had to do was make coffee and turn on the oven, was perfect especially with a two year old. Traditional B&Bs are enjoyable but not very private nor typically kid friendly. It was nice to come and go as we pleased without feeling as if we were bothering other guests or the inn keepers.
Our daughters (2&16) loved renting the 4 seat electric car for the day and touring the city. Just bring your own carseat. Savannah has so much southern hospitality and that is shown at the Armstrong Inn.

Dear World Traveler, Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. Indeed, visitors come to Savannah again and again. Our repeated clientele at the Inns continues to grow. I came to Savannah 14 years ago and I stayed. People are very nice here as you could see. Locals or visitors, everyone in the squares and on our shady sidewalks look beautiful and peaceful. They smile at each other. Life is good here.

I wish you pleasant traveling throughout 2014.

Yours truly,

Monique Armstrong

We are a family of four (two teenage daughters), and stayed at the Tatnall House over Thanksgiving. We loved the personal care we received by Monique Armstrong and her staff. The house is an experience on its own, and a far better one than any big chain hotel. The beds would make a "princess on a pea" very happy, they are extraordinary! The rooms are furnished with personally selected antiques, the art work on the walls created by Monique's husband. There are books and board games as well as a dvd selection to browse through. The kitchen is well equipped. Breakfast and dessert treats prepared by Chef Doreen were left in our fridge every afternoon for the following day. They were exceptional!! The location in Savannah's historic district is perfect. You don't need your car to get to the main sights, the area is beautiful to walk through. Staying in the Armstrong Inns was the best decision we could have made!

Bonjour les Miamiens,

Thank you very much for your inspiring review. I will pass it on to the staff. If I compare my B&B to a Birthday cake, my staff is the icing on the cake. We are blessed. Thanks to our wonderful guests like you.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season overflowing with Love, with Peace and Good Health.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Jenkins House with my brother and his wife to celebrate our anniversaries together. The treats and breakfasts were delicious and we had plenty of room to celebrate together and have alone time too. We will definitely come back to stay again!

Hello Jodi,
You are the romantics of the romantics. I do not know how it sounds in English. It sounds beautiful in my French mind. I did not miss the tears in your sister-in-law’s eyes before your brother in law hold her tenderly in his arms. So romantic! Thank you.
May the Christmas Season fills you with Love, Peace and Joy.

Many returns!

My wife and I celebrated our second anniversary at the Armstrong Inn. The experience was wonderful. Our room was tastefully decorated and packed with amenities. The location was perfect, within easy walking distance of all of Savannah's best sights. Parking was ample. The prepared meals served by our hosts were top drawer. We especially liked the fireplace located in our cozy room. Our experience was so wonderful that we would certainly return in the future. The Armstrong Inn comes with our highest recommendation!

Dear Jonathan and Amy, Thank you for your helpful feedback. Indeed, the fireplaces are roaring at the Armstrong Inns this week. The guests get up at their leisure, turn on the gas fireplace and make plans for activities in town later on in the afternoon. No hurry… C’est la belle vie! As French Canadians go for.

My best wishes for a great Thanksgiving, seasoned with Love and good health.
