“A Weekend of Historic Bliss in the Garden Suite at Armstrong Inns”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Our stay in the Garden Suite at Armstrong Inns was very unique, comfortable, and very accommodating. We especially desire to give our kudos to the chef- the quiche was fantastic! Monique and the Inn staff made us feel welcome and were extremely helpful and gave us wonderful dining and attraction recommendations. Until we return, I will definitely miss waking up to the cozy fireplace, suite full of antiques, and the convenience to the beautiful surrounding squares near Forsyth Park.

Room Tip: We absolutely loved the Garden Suite and hope to return back in a few months. The private garden, de...

Dear Kevin,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and with Trip Advisor members. Your appreciation makes a difference to all of us at the inns. I will share your comments with the Chef and the Staff. Kudos go a long way in our small B&B. Savannah is a great weekend destination with a full agenda for one time visitors and also for repeat visitors, Guests realize very soon that Savannah is not only rich in art, history and architecture; it offers this uniquely rich quality of living that our guests keep coming back to. Like so many guests, I do not want to leave. Likewise, it will be our pleasure to serve you when you return. Monique

Living in Orlando, I visit Savannah quite often since it is only a 4 hour drive and it is such a great city. This past weekend I went with a girlfriend who had never been before and she happened to book the Carriage House at the Armstrong Inn. We were so impressed! First of all, it is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed there. The weather was beautiful so we opened up all the windows to feel the breeze and hear the lovely fountain in our private courtyard. Each morning there are fresh baked goods and juice. The owner is a lovely French woman who has lots of great suggestions for restaurants and such. Highly recommend this place!

Dear Christie, Thank you so much for your recommendation to the members of Trip Advisor. Reviews describe to them what to expect during their stay in a private inn. Next time you come to Savannah, you could try a different location, and stay at the Garden Suite or Chatham Suite, both of them located on Chatham Square, same walking distance to the River.

During the course of the past 12 years, our valued guests, like you, have been a great source of inspiration to me when it comes down to our services and amenities. For example, most of the guests call the office after 11:00 AM to give us a window of time in the afternoon for the housekeepers to come and refresh the inn. At the same time we deliver a fresh cooked breakfast for the guests to enjoy the next morning, at their own time, in the privacy of their Savannah retreat. Our early birds wake up to delicious continental breakfast items – fresh baked croissants, breakfast cakes, fruit salad, juices and more. We offer a brunch course for later in the morning – either quiche, stuffed French toast, skillet of eggs, breakfast potatoes… with sausages or bacon, or custom dishes to accommodate special needs. Guests warm up the hot dishes to their liking. Trip Advisor reviews have encouraged honeymooners and guests in search of extended services, privacy and romantic atmosphere to come and enjoy the unique experience of our private inns..

Happy Valentine!. Monique

After searching the internet for the perfect place to visit for our 40th anniversary, we chose the Armstrong Inns in Savannah. Being unsure which suite to chose, we asked Monique for a recommendation. Her suggestion of the Chatham Suite was perfect. It allowed us the space we wanted but was cozy and inviting. She and her staff were awesome. Monique worked with my husband to have flowers delivered to our suite daily. (40 for 40 years!) Adam was so helpful on orienting us to Savannah; his suggestions of things to see and places to eat were just what we wanted. He even made all our reservations for us. The 17hundred90 restaurant is a wonderful place to eat; the food was excellent and it was not as noisy as Vic's. It was so nice to have breakfast in our suite so we could eat whenever we wanted and not on the schedule of the inn; the food was scrumptious and plentiful. I highly recommend the carriage tour; we learned a lot about the history of Savannah in a very relaxing and romantic atmosphere.Even though I became ill while there (Adam promptly offered to get medical help if needed), our stay was wonderful. We will definitely be returning here in the future. I cannot imagine anywhere being better than the Armstrong Inns.

How lucky I am to witness such love between a husband and wife of 40 years. It is a great privilege for innkeepers and their staff to be of assistance in these special occasions of an engagement, a marriage, a honeymoon or an anniversary. Actually, it can be fun! I am very happy to see how Adams cares about the safety and the comfort of our guests. Madison Carriage Tour Company is professional and very hospitable. I really appreciate how they treat our guests. 17hundred90 restaurant is more recently owned and operated by a 2-generation family who genuinely care for the guests enjoyment of their hospitality. Southern Hospitality is a fact in Savannah. Come! You will see. Monique

Perhaps it seems silly to give all five-stars on a review, but I honestly can't find a single reason to give less!

I stayed in the Carriage House of Armstrong Inns along with my husband on our honeymoon in Savannah, Georgia. We stayed for four nights, and it was THE BEST inn experience I've ever had. Normally I can't spend money on travel without feeling incredibly guilty or sensitive about getting my money's worth, but I feel like I should have paid them more.

Instead of simply a hotel room, the Carriage House is a cozy two-story house of its own, complete with private garden, working fireplace, feather four-post bed (out of a fairy tale) and working kitchen. It's great for a two-person romantic getaway. Every day the staff came in to clean and restock the kitchen with delicious baked goods, and they were extremely polite and kind people. The main office is literally next store, and the staff were always available for information or even conversation. Monique is an incredibly sweet lady, and she made us feel right at home (and was quick to point us to fine Savannah cuisine when we inquired).

I know that I plan to visit the Carriage house again someday, and I'd heartily recommend Armstrong Inns to other travelers. They have several other places to choose from as well. Do yourself a favor and stay there if you visit Savannah!

Note - there is no fitness center or swimming pool, which is why I marked those two areas as 'average'.

Dear Trip Advisor members,

It was our pleasure, for all of us at the Armstrong Inns, to serve Mr. and Mrs. Moore for the special occasion of their honeymoon. It is a great privilege to innkeepers to attend couples choosing Savannah as a destination for the celebration of an anniversary, a honeymoon, elopement or marriage. The Historic District will again be a destination of choice this year for people celebrating Valentine Day. Love and romance are palpable everywhere you are downtown during the weekends before and after. Post scriptum: Have your dinner reservations made ahead of time. Really! Start celebrating now!

We stayed in the Jenkins Suite. Beautiful townhouse, great location... The fridge was stocked with breakfast, local coffee and wine. A great option for a family. Monique was incredibly hospitable and made us feel at home. 5-Stars!

We spent 3 nights at the Armstrong Inn's Chatham Suite over Christmas. The location was excellent and the attention to detail of Monique the owner is exceptional. The suite has everything and anything you would want. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom products were the best and there was lots of closet space and drawers so it would be possible to stay for a longer visit--which we will when we come back to Savannah again. Have already recommended Armstrong to our business partner and friends.

I have stayed at many a B&B before, but the Armstrong Inn is not just a stay its an experience! First let me say that the staff at this Inn are so warm and friendly, and will go above and beyond to ensure your time in Savannah is the best it can be, We stayed for 2 nights in the Carriage House and it was spectacular, the pictures really do it no justice. From the minute we drove up to this beautiful home, we were in awe at how charming it is. And walking in the front door of this quaint home unwrapped even more charm. The Carriage House is furnished and restored impeccably, from the paintings on the walls, to the furniture and decor, when you walk into this home you really feel as if you are at home. The private courtyard is an added bonus, your own little tropical oasis landscaped to perfection, and all the little touches such as the tealights hanging in the trees and the pond, a perfect setting to sit back, relax and have a glass of wine and feast on the delicious baked goods and treats which are placed in your refrigerator daily. I would highly recommend this Inn and plan on traveling there again in the near future!

Room Tip: Carriage House is a private 2 story home, perfect for a romantic getaway.
