We stumbled upon this restaurant down a laneway in Savannah- glad we did! It's a great find, with lots of character, friendly service and great bbq.

There are only three tables in the restaurant and they have limited hours (mostly lunch) and limited selection. We had the pulled pork and the beef brisket and thought both were great. Sides of Mac N' Cheese and collard greens were also very yummy (Some of the best mac n' cheese we had down south).

If you are looking for it, it's located near Chippewa Square.

We tried twice to eat here on our last trip to Savannah. Everybody raved about it. Both times the place was closed. You see, when they sell out, they shut down. On our second visit to Savannah, we made certain to go early. It's a tiny, hole in the wall, mostly take-out, joint. The service was great, the food even better. It was everything everyone raved about and worth the effort to eat there. Fantastic barbecue!

Great barbecue usually comes from a hole-in-the-wall place, and Angel's is the perfect example of that. It's tiny, only a few tables, and tucked away in what looks like an alley. But inside is the best pulled pork, the best collard greens, and the best barbecue sauces in town. (Damn good fries, too!) If you become a regular like me, you'll find new homemade sauces every time you go. Go early because they do sell out of food sometimes. You'll be happy you did.

Had pulled pork was good. Friend really liked the collards. Other friend liked the brisket. I think there are better restaurants, but if you want a quick meal at a good price. This is a good choice

Sought out a not so touristy spot for a hearty meal that won't break the bank. This is the gem I found with a healthy serving and lots of love in the taste of their food. Sweet and helpful with great service and conversation. A must try when in the Historic District
