When we entered this clean, sleek hotel, we were pleasantly greeted by Elizabeth who quickly checked us in. When we entered our room, we were impressed that the restored hardwood floors continued into the guest rooms which, although somewhat narrow, do have an excellent view of the river. The bathroom is large and has an exceptionally large shower, and the king bed is comfy with nice linens that stay in place. The room was also exceptionally clean. I'm giving four stars because some of the pluses also are minuses - the hardwood floors are beautiful, but the room acoustics are bad, especially in the bathroom, and overhead noise is especially bad in the mornings. The balcony is a big disappointment as we like to sit in the evenings and enjoy the river and the extra charge just isn't worth it. If I were to stay again, I would just get a river view room, and I would stay on the 5th floor.

The Cotton Sail Hotel has very few flaws. The location is right along the river. The location couldn't be better for time spent in Savannah. The cleanliness of the hotel was above reproach. The room seemed larger than average. The bathroom was roomy and if you were so inclined the shower is big enough to have a party.

We used the valet parking which cost $25. I found the valet parking to have been a bit of a slow process. There didn't seem to be any urgency to help with our bags and we basically had to unload ourselves as the bellhops looked on. We weren't welcomed to the hotel. I actually had to ask and signal to get our bags placed onto the luggage cart.

Check in was rather a slow process too but it was done with a smile and gracious attitude. I had ordered a bottle of sparkling wine to be in our room upon arrival. When the clerk saw this note upon arrival she seemed a bit surprised and began to scramble to make that happen which added time to check in and then the sparkling wine didn't arrive until later.

I didn't see many staff in the hotel which led me to believe they were under staffed.

The hotel itself sold me on this property. We were in room 524 which I think was a corner/ end unit. We had a city view from the large windows and a nice river view from the side window (which the clerk checking us in didn't know). She told us we had a city view and when I asked if there was a river view room available she said no.

I think they need to retrain their staff on customer service just a wee bit. When good customer service happens it should generate an excellent rating instead of very good for this hotel.

However I would strongly recommend this hotel. It is a great place to stay. Great location, and great room. You won't be sorry you picked this hotel for your stay in Savannah.

Enjoyed our brief stay here. Room was very modern and clean; loved that it had hardwood floors and was still a quiet property. Great location and very walkable to the historic section of savannah. Several wonderful brew pubs and restaurants within a brief walk as well as wonderful shops.
