This place rocks such a funky retro hotel. The staff are so awesome Tracy, Leslie, Mikey are nice as can be. Great price perfect location. Be sure to ask about George Monk the coolest monkey in town. Super pet friendly they loved my dogs to pieces. The inn keeper Mark Thomas really knows how to manage a great hotel.

Wonderful stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, friendly and helpful staff and pet friendly. What more could you want? Also loved the retro theme and the moon pies on the pillow! Parking was excellent near our room and was convenient to local attractions. Also JJ's pizza delivered and that was convenient also

Conveniently located within walking distance to Savannah's historic district. Clean rooms. Comfy beds with lots of pillows. Retro, fun decor. Staff is very helpful. Pet friendly Inn. Priced right--great value for the money. Will be going back.

Thunderbird Inn has a warm, 50s feel with clean rooms, large, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. Short walk to all the restaurants and clubs - I'll definitely stay here again upon my return to Savannah!

The Thunderbird Inn is a nice retro property in the historic district of Savannah, GA. Location upside is that it's a short walk across the street to the Savannah Welcome center. This was perfect as we planned on taking a trolley tour of the historic district. You can purchase tickets as well as catch the trolley right at that location. Location downside was that there is no where to eat around the hotel without getting in a car. We actually had to order food for delivery our first night then planned on eating at the Riverfront the next. The rooms were clean and retro designed but could use some updating. This is not a luxury property! I've stayed in another retro hotel with the same feel and it was far better. The moonpies and RC cola was a nice touch each evening. Never made it to the Krispy Kreme /Coffee breakfast each morning. All in all this is a nice retro budget property if you want to spend a night or two touring historic Savannah.
