We stayed at the Bed & Breakfast Inn from June 20 through 24, 2004. We had the Parkview room on the third floor -- no elevator but we didn't have trouble getting up and down the stairs. The room was very nicely decorated with reproductions and pleasing paint/wallpaper treatments, neat as a pin, and had a spacious closet and a private bath with a tub and shower. The daily breakfast was very good as well: homemade granola and breakfast breads plus a hot entree choice each day (eggs sardou or omelets for example) made to order and including fruit cup, toast, bacon, coffee and tea. The location was good but perhaps a bit removed from the center of things, a half block from Mercer House. There were some nice details: they are very aware of the parking limits around the inn and go out of their way to make sure you don't get nicked for parking overtime. You don't have to present yourself at any particular time for breakfast -- just show up within a generous time frame, which helps alleviate the weird breakfast with a roomful of strangers thing. The innkeeper obviously lost her passion for the profession a long time ago; she runs a tight ship -- just don't expect to be overwhelmed by southern hospitality. It was an excellent value and I would probably stay there again.
