We booked by telephone the day before we were travelling and spoke to a helpful and friendly lady. When we arrived we had no trouble parking, which is all on meters, you have to read the signs carefully as there are sweep zones, and you must not park in one of those. The hotel staff will give you enough quarters for your meter and/or a parking pass. They also feed your meter on the day of departure as long as you give them the details of your car.

Fred, greeted us when we arrived and showed us around and checked us in, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were shown to our accommodation which was The Cottage on the Lane, this was a self contained unit with a small living area downstairs along with a kitchen/dining area and doors leading onto a courtyard. Upstairs there was a double bedroom and bathroom. We were very happy with this.

The rooms were spacious but a little dark and dated in places, but I have learnt to get used to this in many places in the US. The location was quiet and we were not disturbed by any noise, the location was good too and we were able to walk to all our destinations in Savannah.

You order your choice of sweet or savoury breakfast the night before, and the first breakfast we had was lovely, on the second day I did not enjoy it so much, but that was my own personal taste.

They put cake out in the dining room in the afternoon and cookies at bedtime - yummy!

There was free wi fi which is always a bonus.

I would definately stay here again if I was visiting Savannah, although I think you could find places that are a little more special if you wanted to pay more.

My wife and I chose the Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn for our first B&B experience and we are sold! It was such a pleasure to visit the Host City of the South and stay in accomodations that reflected and captured the charm and ambiance of the city. The Inn is located very conveniently so that visitors can walk comfortably to experience all the sights and attractions of the historic district. Our room, The Jasmine Room, was comfortable and clean and gave us all the amenities that we would expect in a fine hotel. The breakfast choices were imaginative and delicious and the afternoon snack and warm bedtime cookies are a great touch. We are already working on dates for a return to Savannah and won't consider staying anywhere else when we come.

Very convenient to the Historic District. The staff makes you at home from your first moment of arrival. We stayed in the Turkish Room. Although we were on the street side we did not have traffic noise. The bathroom was good, the quarters clean and the fellow lodgers amiable and interesting. The neighborhood is quiet but handy to everything. It is the perfect location to "walk the squares" an experience each square's dedication to an important instant or person of American history in Savannah. The breakfasts are excellent, the service and atmosphere friendly and efficient and the afternoon snacks and the cookies and milk in the evening often a perfect end to a long but enjoyable day.

Room Tip: Talking to some of the other guests some preferred ground floor rooms, some higher rooms. We did no...

From the moment we arrived, we were delighted with this beautifully maintained B&B, ideally located on Chatham Square where you can navigate your walking feet everywhere in the Historic Savannah District. The staff was always always pleasant and helpful with suggestions for meals/activities/sightseeing and in making arrangements for tours/cabs, etc. Our room (Azalea) beautifully decorated, spacious, clean, quiet. Breakfasts were great and well organized, afternoon tea & sweets yummy, Chocolate chip cookies and milk to welcome you back at night...Mr McAllister and his staff pay attention to the details. Be prepared to climb lots of steps, but it's like reaching a bit of Savannah heaven when you do!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask how many steps/fights are involved getting to your room if you have physical limitati...

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. We were close enough to be able to walk everywhere. Really enjoyed the courtyard areas and sitting out on the back porch for breakfast.
