“Lunch in a Delightful Atmosphere!”

Went to 700 Drayton with a friend and my daughter. The atmosphere is lovely -- crisp and inviting and the food was delightful. Service was good and we had an enjoyable time.

“Elegant dining establishment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

I was probably a little casually dressed for the restaurant especially since it was prom night. No one batted an eye at that, however. The food was delicious, and elegantly presented. We tried fried green tomatoes for the first time--yummy. I had the grouper, and my husband had the beef. The bread was warm, fresh, and not plain old white. This is a good place to celebrate a special occasion (like our 31st wedding anniversary).

“A wonderful meal in a beautiful place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

We had a party of six and experienced none of the service issues mentioned by another patron - Natalie was very attentive. Our meals were wonderful and the reserved elegance of the room made it even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend it. Oh, by the way, the gratuity was 18%.

The food and service were excellent. Amazing filet served over blue cheese grits and perfectly prepared fish. Shrimp fitters and mussels as appetizers should not be missed. We were mixed on the fried green tomatoes, but all said at least good.

Terrific wine list.

The Hotel and restaurant are shockingly modern for Savannah. It was not at all what I expected when making reservations. Artwork throughout is eclectic and fun.

It started out nice - 9 of us seated at a lovely table. Two waitresses came to tell us about the specials and suggest wines. All looked great. Then they just disappeared - we never saw the second one again and the one who did come only came by when we got up to ask for something. Food was mediocre at best and not cheap and two of us had ice cold meals that we sent back. The meal came back after everyone else was done. They offered coffee to everyone while we waited for them to finish their late meal. We had theater tickets so had to run but we asked for the manager (patrick) who was nice and offered after theater drinks in the bar. On top of all that they automatically added 20% tip to bill! Not uncommon in Savannah and we like that but not when the service was the problem. Seems that they need to train their staff at the very least. We did take him up on the drinks and they did a very nice job with that. But there are so many terrific restaurants in Savannah I would have to say to not waste any good meal on 700 Drayton at The Mansion!
