We don't usually do organized tours such as this, but I highly recommend this one for visitors new & old to Savannah. I grew up in Georgia and have visited Savannah several times, as phage my parents. But we were there for just a day and a half after Thanksgiving with family in South Georgia so that my husband, who grew up in Colorado, could get a taste of Southern history. The trolley drivers (we had 3 different ones as we hopped on and off) were informative and entertaining. In the end our last driver, Jack, even took us through the first 4 stops to finish our circuit and get us back to the Hilton, even though it was after hours. Even if you want to walk the city, which I also recommend highly, do this tour first to see and learn and then go back to take more time to gawk at the beautiful homes and squares and read the plaques.
