Very good food, charming atmosphere, very good service. I had the pulled pork sliders and they were great. The rest in my group had a special of the day risotto with vegetables and seafood. They raved.

At downstairs in the tavern. Wonderful singer and piano to go with an excellent dinner by the fireplace made for and exceptional evening.

Excited to return to the OPH, where we dined two years ago during the holiday season so after checking menu (yes!) we made on-line reservations 3 or 4 weeks early. Totally unlike earlier experience, we had to wait a good half hour outside of packed ante-room for our table, another 15 minutes for a glass of wine. Then (and perhaps we should've checked) we were ambushed by pris-fixe menu, which took away preferred small-plates option in favor of the entree route, which we generally find monotonous with too much animal product to deal with. Also, because of the crowded quarters, we found ourselves in too close proximitiy to server 'tocks most of the evening. The venue is still splendid & the servers show a lot of pride in the place (and the fried green tomato BLT was delish), but we found the overall dining experience to be a letdown because of the extended wait & the limited menu. Will probably eat there again when we get back to Savannah, but we left disappointed and irked that we'd spent too much for too little satisfaction. Had to tell the desk clerk who'd warned us that morning that the OPH had a reputation of overbooking on holidays that, yeah, she told us so: we'd been touristed!

Christmas Day dining was a huge plus for visitors in town over the holidays. The restaurant was packed, but service was excellent. A varied menu with something for everyone's taste makes this a great place to take the family. We headed down to the Tavern for after dinner coffee and drinks. Excellent restaurant but pricey. Great for special occasions.

Fantastic service and great food! Seafood tower is a must. Great wine list. When you want a special dinner, this is the place.
