For seafood at Port Royal near Paris Island USMC you cannot do better. Best view and great food. You will like it if you love sea food.

“Not our favorite Savannah meal”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

This was the first restaurant we went to for dinner on our recent trip to Savannah. The location was great on River Street, and the restaurant had a nice, casual feel with outdoor seating and also with interesting indoor seating (chains holding up the wooden tables, overall ship feel to it, etc.). Parts of the inside, however, seemed a little dirty, including the bathrooms. Our wait to get a table was brief, and our server was prompt initially. But the wait to get our food was so long and our server was nowhere to be found, so we considered leaving before it even arrived. Finally, we flagged down a different server, who said she'd look into things. Relatively quickly after that, our server finally arrived with our food and said that something hadn't been right with our food initially so she'd asked them to re-do it for us. It just would've been nice if she'd explained that to us earlier instead of just leaving us waiting. Also, even though our food was fine (average), the kids' meals seemed like they'd been sitting too long (hard cheese on the mac-n-cheese, etc.). So, overall, it wasn't the best dinner experience for us.

“Worse than last time”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

Never a good way to describe a restaurant experience. Last year we got steak and shrimp; shrimp were good but the steak was flavorless. This year my wife and I stopped at Dockside since we had a craving for their fried pickles (still the best fried pickles) and we decided to share a fried shrimp plate. The service was good but the shrimp and fries not so much. I know the fries had been re-fried and I am going to say the shrimp were not local; they had the taste of farm raised shrimp. Too many other places in Savannah that offer better seafood than Dockside; I don't plan to go back.

“Great Service for party of 20”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Went for lunch with 6 adults and 14 girls(ages 9-10). The service was great from the get go. We were seated together immediately and the gals that helped us were great. All of the food that I tried was excellent and affordable. The Shrimp and Grits was great, and the appetizer can actually be enough for a meal. Its hard to accommodate 14 young girls, but the kids menu was great!

“Good and affordable”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Right on River Street. They have a good child's menu. We had the shrimp boil, and it was really good at around 16 bucks. The service was good as well.
