“Excellent food and service”
Reviewed September 11, 2011

Attended Dockside Labor day weekend 2011. Our waitress Rachel was awesome. She went above and beyond her job as a waitress. She was very friendly. The food was excellent. Seasoned just right and fresh. We had the low country boil and the grouper fingers. The only negative thing I would say is it didn't have a full bar, only beer and wine. If you in Savannah River street stop by enjoy and ask for Rachel.

“Family Orented, FRESH seafood~ the BEST food we ate all week!!!”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

First of all, we had eaten at all the places people usually eat when in Savannah. The Pirate House, The Lady & Son's, etc. (You get the picture~ typical tourists). After eating at all these places PLUS more, we were tired of everything. Nothing seemed to hit the spot, (much less taste great). SO, out of sheer desperation for something GOOD, we asked one of the caterers where to go. Hands down~ Dockside he said, and told us to ask for Jen. We went, and were pleasantly surprised to find that some of the negative reviews posted on here are just plain out WRONG. Jen was awesome! We told her about our search for good food and told her we were there for a convention, and she filled our hands with "to go" menus and coupons for free shrimp cocktail, (which we gladly shared at the 5K+ convention).
FOOD~ FRESH!!!!!
The Chowder.... Excellent & comes with 2 pieces of buttered & toasted bread.
The Seafood Feast....TASTE BUD HEAVEN! Everything on it is amazing! The fried shrimp, the oysters, the fish, the scallops YUM YUM YUM!
We enjoyed it so much we went back the very next day and did it all over again! (This time we had Rachel~ she was the BEST too!)

ATMOSPHERE~
Seating inside and out. The seating inside is so neat. You see all the old ballasts and can savor all the rich history in the building. The booths have such a cute set up~ tables seemingly hang from a chain and are decorated with the netting, driftwood, air plants and pictures of the owners while fishing. They are slowly changing out older free-standing tables and putting in hand made tables. So it's only getting better & better. Sitting outside you see all the action of the river and foot traffic on river street.

HISTORY~ Savannah has built it's reputation on historic preservation. Dockside not only has great food, but the history alone is reason enough to walk in for a visit! Dockside is home to one of the oldest buildings in the entire state of GA. It was built in 1792, by a ship Chandler, Captain William Taylor. It has beautiful old ballast stone and masonry! You get to sit up close and personal with a piece of history!

You can't go wrong here folks. It was GREAT. Go enjoy FRESH seafood. Not some processed or frozen crap that people try to pass off as fresh.

We WILL be back!! Loved it!! THANKS DOCKSIDE!!!

We strive for perfection,,,not just good,,,and are very troubled that we let this family down. I personally speak to many of our patrons, and the responses are overwhelmingly great. My apologies for the missteps, and I will do my best to make sure this doesn't repeat.

“Ok for lunch and it's nothing fancy”
Reviewed July 2, 2011

I was really worried when we first went in. Crappy seating, tables. Just cheaply done. However we had a cheeseburger and it was one of the best. I had a chicken salad type of sandwich and it was very good!
