Description: One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

Did a last minute search as we were coming into town. This restaurant was suggested by staff at the inn. Called for reservation and 1 hour later we walked to Congress St. Very friendly greeting as we entered this small restaurant. Server was pleasant and attentive and answered questions about the restaurant at the end of our meal. We were in a car for many hours so we were not in a hurry. We enjoy and appreciate quiet relaxed unhurried meals. I had the black grouper and my husband had steak. Both were very good. We shared the berry cobbler. With the steak came potatoes chevre gratin. My husband really liked them. The meals were plated well and simply. We liked the decor--exposed brick, etc. It is not noisy and the place was filled. It's nice to be able to converse during a meal and not shout. This was our kind of dining.

Not having a reservation in Savannah on a Fri night is not a good idea. We were on the verge of eating at Moe's when we decided to try Sapphire Grill, across the street. Though there were empty tables we were welcomed at the bar. Had drinks and after seeing the menu decided to stay and eat. My salad with the lavender vinaigrette was different and tasty. I had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes & Golden Potato Purée from the appetizer menu, wonderful, with the salad it was a great meal. Husband had a steak, huge, perfectly seasoned. By the time we got our food the restaurant was full. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

After eating reasonably well but not as well as we had hoped at one of the many concept restaurants in town, we opted for a local called Sapphire Grill. They were willing to accomodate a change of plan in our reservation and were very nice. The food was terrific - wonderful and imaginative salads, black sesame seed crusted grouper for me and bouillaibase for the wife.
After coffee we split a berry crumble with lemon gelato, one of the best desserts ever.

Love this place. Try the Chef's menu…it is great. Folks are nice, location is great. The Duck is great as well. Lots of really good wine choices.

My Husband and I was told about this restaurant so we decided to try it. It was crowded so they took us to the third floor, not as noisy, nice atmosphere. Everything was great except for bringing out the meal, it was lengthy and the waitress could have let us know. Be sides that, thumbs up.
