“Still Amazing!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Awesome! Awesome! The line is as expected, I mean it is so worth the wait. You just have to time it right. They have benches to sit as the line moves. They have water towards the front of the line (heads up). Plenty of shade from the tall trees. And the line moves in bulk!! We got there at around 11. Our max wait was 30-45min, which is no different from a steakhouse line! We had a party of 12 and sat very well! The food as always was sooooooo delicious! Drinks, food, dessert and tax all in one fee! Cant beat that! I recommend you dont eat a big meal the night before, come with an empty stomach! =-)
If you are in Savannah, you MUST stop here! If will be so worth your time!

“Great food, rushed meal”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

My husband and I ate at this famous restaurant a few weeks ago. We decided to go there on a whim later in the afternoon and only had to stand in line for about 45 minutes. It is on a lovely shady street and they supply plenty of water in a cooler outside the restaurant. We had lively conversation with others in line, but unfortunately were not seated together. The interior is casual, cramped and hot. Our table companions were very quiet and tired--so not much interesting conversions. The food is served family style and is all you can eat. The baking powder biscuits are amazing and we had the best pork barbecue we have ever tasted. They only serve sweet tea and water. Banana pudding was the only dessert. Our only complaint was the rushed service. There was no time to linger over your food or drinks. Once you were done, they quickly remove the food and you carry your own plate to the kitchen. The price was a great value. I would recommend it, but be prepared to wait, come on a completely empty stomach and try to get seated with interesting people if possible.

“Absolutely superb! Awesome authentic southern food!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. You cannot visit Savannah without getting your belly full of the best scrumptious southern food in a setting extremely friendly and informal. Well worth the wait in line. Get their early.

“Must do!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Much better than the Lady & Sons. This is phenomenal food and very good. Come with an empty stomach and skip breakfast because you will need all the room you can get! Everything I have tried there is great! Be prepared for an hour in line but its worth it.

“A must do!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

We arrived 45 minutes before it opened and were seated by 11:15. Our table was ready, sweet tea was poured and 17 dishes cooked to perfection were ours for the taking. I would agree with others that don't bother with dessert. The fried chicken and southern sides are much more amazing. The cost was great too. Two adults and two kids and we paid $46. The food highlight of our Georgia trip.
