It is a small museum, but it has a lot to see. We went in the train ride and it was pretty awesome! My kid and I had an awesome time. It has a lot to see, a lot of trains and you can go inside of some of them. The employees were very nice.

Great if you like trains and history. Most little and big boys like trains. This is a wonderful history lesson and entertaining also. Even someone who is not a huge train buff would enjoy this tour.

Working coal-fired locomotive, working turntable, a roundhouse, a hand car, and more. Admission fee gets you in to view all the grounds, see the inside of a number of box cars, take a ride on the turntable and also take a ride on the hand car. If you love trains then this is a must see attraction in Savannah.

"Georgia State Railroad Museum is believed to be the largest and most complete antebellum railroad repair facility still in existence, in the world!" We took a ride on the 101 year old steam locomotive, were on a turntable 3 times, and learned about the history of railroading in Georgia. Quite a lot for a couple of hours we spent at the museum. Nice place to visit, a lot to see and learn.

What a great time this was. Everyone is friendly and happy to take time to answer your questions and give suggestions. There are events that all can join in, but the best was the tour with Emily. This tour was new and fantastic. She was very patient and so knowledgeable and even let us take a short ride on the turntable. You may want to go early in the day as it was very hot and sunny--but this is SAVANNAH and that is part of its charm.
