“Great Effort by Volunteers To Save History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2012

Had a great time enjoying the hard work many volunteers have put into preserving this important piece of history!
This place was completely abandoned for over 20 years when they finally woke up and realized that their History was rotting away-and they have made incredible efforts to save their vanishing history!
Enjoyed the trains, and passion of the people on duty-I'll be back!

We are RR freaks so anything to do with the rails is great.

“Fascinating trip back in time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

A well-restored variety of 150-year-old railroad buildings and railroad engines and cars. My favorites are the 85-ft. roundtable and the 126-foot brick smokestack with privies around the base.

“Nice place if you are into trains”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

We visited the museum but there was not a lot to see. A lot of the buildings are under renovation. If you are heavily into trains it would be good

“History maintained”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

The Roundhouse Railroad Museum was a highlight "solo" excursion of mine while we were in Savannah. Located just off from our Hotel and adjacent to the visitors center, it was both convenient and educational. The trains were fantastic, as I'm sure the other reviews will tell you, but I mostly enjoyed the buildings and equipment still located at the site. Anyone interested in historical American Architecture in Savannah must also include the roundhouse on their tour.
