We went for a local production of the Nutcracker. The theater is like stepping back in time into the golden age of cinema. Well preserved and classic ushers and box office.

“A Christmas Cabaret”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed the show! Because it was a cabaret, there were only 100 people in the audience. We sat on stage in the midst of the performers. The singing, piano and harp were heavenly!

“Jim Brickman Concert at the Lucas Theater....Magical!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

The Lucas Theater is an absolutely gorgous venue with a lot of history. As an early Christmas gift for my parents and daughter, I gave them a weekend in Savannah, including tickets to a Jim Brickman concert at this theater. We enjoyed the show and the Lucas Theater was the perfect place to enjoy this talented performer. I would absolutely recommend a great musical performance or theater experience here.

“Great Theatre From 1920s”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Attended Savannah Film Festival of which many of the films were shown at the Lucas Theatre. This is a large, grand and ornate theatre from the 1920s that has been beautifully restored and technically updated. You will love the Lucas and Savannah Film Festival.

“What It Must Have Been Like In The Golden Age”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

This totally restored theater sent shivers up and down my spine as I explored the main auditorium, the stairways, balconies and boxes. I could almost feel how exotic and exciting it must have been to go to the movies in the 1920's. Luxurious detail greets you as soon as you enter the lobby. Plaster detailing and abounds and cantilevered balconies and boxes seem to float under the domed ceilings.

We visited during the Savannah College of Art and Design International Film Festival. If you can plan your visit for the end of Oct. beginning of November check out the festival. There was no admission to enter the theater between showings.

This is a must see and it only takes half an hour.
