Owner description: The Lucas Theatre is located in the heart of Savannah downtown historic district and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1921, it underwent a massive restoration during the 1990s. It reopened in 2000 as a premier venue for film, opera, concerts, theatricals and more.

Of all the movies that could have been playing when I was in Savannah, I couldn't believe I happened to be there while Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was playing -- and for $8 a ticket!
The building is gorgeous. It's the kind of place people would pay money just to get a tour of the inside, though you don't have to. According to their web site, you can actually go inside and have a look around during normal business hours provided there isn't something else already going on.
Get there early if you have general admission tix; it's a popular place.
Popcorn was cheap but IMO too small, but the incredibly reasonable price on their alcoholic beverages balanced that out. Some candies are also available, and there is K-cup coffee at the downstairs concession stand only.
There was totally adequate restroom space as well, which isn't always the case in older buildings (well, or newer buildings, really). I saw a men's and a ladies' restroom on both the first and second levels.

The theatre has been beautifully restored. It was fun to get to watch "Midnight in the Garden of Eden" in Savannah. I would love to go back for other events or just to tour the facility.

We saw Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in the theater. The theater has a nice atmosphere to see a show or watch a movie. The tickets were only $8.00, popcorn only $2.00. Other drinks including coffee, soda, beer, and wine are also available for purchase. If you're visiting Savannah, make sure to check out the theater's schedule. It is worth checking out at night for something to do.

For the past 10 years, my husband and I have been ushering at this magnificent theater. It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the theater is and the diverse quality of shows, concerts and performances that come to grace the stage through out the year. From the time you step into the lobby, to taking your seats, you will surely be impressed.

We were able to stop in during the day and look inside this theater. The renovation is gorgeous! In the lobby there are posters on easels depicting the renovation process, famous movies shown, etc. Very interesting.
