Largest park within the city, walking distance (less than 30 min from most hotels). Excellent place to just sit and watch people walk by

We like to go for walks & this was a nice park to visit. We were there at various times throughout our stay & the felt uncomfortable at least 3 different times, as people approached us for money. I wish they had law enforcement walking or segwaying around to keep people from asking for money.

This was a must-see on my Savannah trip. The park was well kept , it was a weekend visit so there were a lot of others touring the park. It was relaxing and The Monuments were impressive. The only downside was the large amount of homeless hanging out in the park. A few local artists we're selling their works in the park also, that was a nice touch.

We were blessed to visit Forsyth Park at the end of our Free tours of Savannah tour.
The park is huge, has well shaded park benches, and a large playground for kids.
The center attraction is a delightful fountain, spouting water in 4 directions. At the south end of the prk, is the visitor’s center, a cool respite from the Georgian heat. Inside the center, you’ll find bathrooms. There was some mention of a “cafe” but I can’t attest to that.
Please visit Forsyth and the other squares. Lots of history to read about on the markers. As a bonus, the squares are beautifully landscaped with bench seats throughout. What a great way to spend the day!
