“Clean, nice, breakfast”
Reviewed December 27, 2013 via mobile

We got a good price on priceline, but this was a very nice hotel. Was a little nervous driving in on safety but it was completely fine. And the location is perfect if you want to be close to the historic district. It is an easy drive, short walk, or they provide a free shuttle service which we never used.

Our room was perfectly clean and roomy. We appreciated the in room fridge. Except the temp was so high my drink froze in the door! And our remote was broke and the up/down channels didn't work. But we didn't stay in the hotel all day so we didn't mind.

Breakfast was always busy but constantly refilled and plenty of options!

Arrived mid evening on a Friday to a cozy lobby, clean room, with mountain bikes in tow - staff stowed them for us when we weren't riding. The room was very comfortable with fridge, microwave, and small coffee maker. We couldn't hear doors slam or noises from adjacent rooms. (however, I do travel with a small fan but it was still quiet). The only complaint I have is that our bathroom sink was clogged and we casually mentioned it the night we arrived. Again, the next day. Finally, on the third and last day, we brought it up and the guy at the desk had it fixed immediately. Not a big deal, I feel that we could have stressed the repair earlier.
Two block walk to the 'touristy' area, but along a busy E Bay with sidewalk. The hotel offered a van for rides as well, which we used one night.
Mostly we rode bikes for transportation, and we cut through the back of the property to hit River St to avoid E Bay.
There was a $5 fee per day for parking but that's a bargain in the area.
Breakfast was decent, nice to have access to morning munchies. Fruit, waffles, coffee, cereal, yogurt, pastries - the usual. Clean, well attended.
I would recommend Comfort Suites due to the staff, cleanliness, location, quietness.

Room Tip: Our room was on the third floor, parking lot side. No complaints.

We recently spent two nights in Savannah, during our USA holiday. This hotel was booked by our travel agent in Australia. The hotel was easy to find, and on arrival we welcomed by friendly front desk staff. Our room was comfortable, and breakfast each morning satisfying. The location just outside the historic district is within easy reach of Savannahs tourist district. If you don't feel like walking, there is an excellent shuttle service which will drop you of tho just about anywhere you desire. We used this a number of times, and although we we're advised that they could pick us up for the return, we didn't use this part of the service. All the staff at the hotel bent over backwards to assist us where they could, from manager Ron (thanks for assisting with the laundry), to front desk staff Donna and Andrea, to shuttle drive Terese, and others whose names I can't recall, thank you for a great break in Savannah, we will recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Savannah.

Greeted with a smile from every staff member we met. Everyone was very attentive and accommodating. Our family would like to extend a special and warm Thank You to Shenell the breakfast attendant. We had the honor of meeting and chatting with her Thanksgiving morning, before the weekend rush, very friendly. Even when the crowd came for the weekend; she kept up with the demand and still did so with her warm and friendly spirit.

It was very impressive! Greeted with a warm smile by Donna at the front desk, felt welcomed after a very long flight. An excellent room, high ceilings, spacious, big beds and full workspace, like private apartment. Complimentary breakfast, many options, very tasty, prepared by Shanell always had a smile in the mornings. Walking on the grounds, asked James, the building engineer, gave me good tips on where to eat in the city. The hotel even had a shuttle service by Andrea, to drive me there and pick me up, now that's very cool. No wandering around trying to figure it out, it saved time and was excellent! Had great southern cooking. wow!

Stayed at the Comfort Suites for a youth softball tournament on the weekend of November 22-24, 2013. Though the name of the hotel is Comfort Suites historic district - it is located on the very 'edge' of the true Savannah historic area. The hotel is located in a bit of a questionable area, with some lower income housing directly across the street (on Bay Street). There were some larger groups "hanging out" in this area at night, so if you are walking to the historic area, I would recommend walking in a group.

Once inside the doors of the hotel you will find a very nice (and new) Comfort Suites with all of the typical amenities. We had asked for a king room, but were given a room with two beds. After speaking with the manager, we were upgraded to a king suite and all was great. Rooms are very clean, bed was comfortable, and overall the experience for overnight slumber was great.

Breakfast is typical continental type you will find at most hotels of this class/level - coffee, pastries, waffles (waffle maker), eggs/sausage or ham, etc. Breakfast area was clean and the breakfast staff was attentive to keeping the area stocked.

There is an indoor pool and a hot tub. We didn't go in this area, but it appeared clean. The pool itself was very small (maybe 2-3 times the size of an average size hot tub).

Overall it was a good stay, but the area surrounding the hotel left something to be desired. The rates are better than some of the hotels that are more central to the historic district (approximately a $25/night difference), so if price is your deciding factor on where to stay - this hotel is probably going to win out more times than not.

A big Thank you to the management! They saved us from a vacation nightmare. We booked a vacation rental in the area. But, on arrival it was a disaster! So, at 11pm we needed to find a new place to stay for the weekend with pets. When I called in a panic to see if comfort inn had availability and if they accepted pets. The friendly voice on the phone said yes to both questions. We talked to the manager the next morning and he was very helpful and even brought down the cost of the room for us. Thank you for saving our vacation!
