“Wonderful Bed & Breakfast”

We loved our stay at East Bay Inn! The friendliness of the entire staff made you feel like you were family. The afternoon wine/cheese was great and allowed us to meet others who were staying at the Inn. If you opportunity to go to Savannah this Inn is definitely the place to stay.

Room Tip: Any room is great but if you want quite request room on side or back of Inn due to traffic during th...

What a great stay even though it was only one night. Our room had a 20' ceilings very comfortable. Everyone was helpful, will return again. Loved reading the journal in our room from past visitors. Within walking distance to what we wanted to see.

The East Bay Inn is a good place to stay in Savannah (we stayed for two nights). The hotel is clean, the rooms are very spacious, and the staff is friendly. The breakfast on the other hand is a major letdown. Served in the basement, quality of the food below average, poor variety.

The location is great - many attractions are within walking distance. The busstop for the hop on-hop off tours is right around the corner.

Room Tip: Try to find somewhere else for breakfast...

I enjoyed my stay at the East Bay Inn. The staff was very professional, courteous, and helpful. I loved my room it was spacious and had natural charm with hardwood floors and brick walls. I also loved our location as it was in walking distance to most of the things we wanted to do. Some may not like the squeaky wood floors however, I felt it was part of the charm of staying in an old building. BTW they have free wine and cheese events each evening.

East Bay Inn provides the personal touch of a cheerful and professional staff and the elegance of top notch lodging in a downtown building with a very interesting history! Convenient to factors walk, river street, and a short walk to city market. The value of the wine & cheese in the evening and breakfast buffet in the morning nicely offsets the reasonable rate for this level of lodging in an optimum location. We stayed in a King deluxe room...ceiling about 16 feet! ..and tastefully furnished, with a view of Bay Street Live Oaks and an occasional glimpse of commercial container ships passing by on the Savannah River.

Room Tip: ...go for the deluxe room with high ceiling and view of bay street, if available.

My wife and I had an anniversary weekend with East Bay in Savannah. We love getting off the chain path and staying in interesting buildings. East Bay certainly fit the bill ... tons of character. And the location was awesome, basically one block off River Street.

We stayed in a King deluxe. The room was grand with 20 foot ceilings, two padded chairs and a loveseat. The room had nice historic looking furniture. We had two tall windows overlooking East Bay Street. The bed was also quite comfortable ... bedding always seems to be a hit or miss with lodging institutions; however this was a hit.

The staff was also very helpful. Sheila at the front desk arranged for our trolley tour where they conveniently picked us up one block over. Basically we parked our car and walked around the entire weekend. The historic district is roughly 2.2 miles square ... really easy walking to all points of interest.

We also took the Hearse ghost tour on Saturday night. I like the history and my wife likes the stories of spirits. It was something different ... be aware that the seating in the back is tight.

One note for potential improvement - the included breakfast is labelled "Deluxe" but that seems a bit of oversell. It had eggs, grits, some side meat, and a few cereal options ... fairly minimal. Given the price tag, maybe they could try a little harder to live up to the "Deluxe" branding.

I can't say enough good things about this Inn. We loved it. The location is great - right across the street from Riverstreet. The inn itself is lovely. The room was a very nice size, had nice details (brick & molding) and well-appointed with furnishings. The inn had a wine and cheese reception in the late afternoon. They also had a very nice, full hot breakfast. We did have to pay $12.00 per day to park (private lot for the inn), but that is less than many of the other hotels/inns in the area.
My husband and I agree that this is where we will stay when we go to Savannah.
I highly recommend the East Bay Inn!
