“Lovely property and amenities”

Our family booked two nights at this charming hotel with a great lobby and breakfast area.
The room we had was a double double deluxe with a view. We were very pleased with the room and the property as a whole. Comfy beds and spacious layout. Taking the ferry across to downtown Savannah was part of the charm especially because we were in no particular rush to go anywhere. Only downside is that breakfast is not part of the package, unlike in another hotel chain where we are diamond members. We took advantage of the resort amenities including tennis and biking. The resort so nicely arranged for their staff member, Mike (a great tennis player) to play with my husband and I, which made it such a great workout. The use of the bikes was free and the surroundings of the hotel provided a scenic route. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Savannah.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view

Booked our stay for one night through Priceline. Email confiremed our check in time at 3 pm. We got here an hour early. Our first encounter was with the valet, who didn't welcome us, simply told me I needed to give him my car keys while I checked in. When we went to check in, they said our room wasn't ready, would be maybe an hour, but definitely before 4, and they would call us when our room was ready. We grabbed drinks at the bar, which also had poor service. Waited 20 min for waitress, then finally just went to the bar ourselves.

Finally at 430, after not getting a call, went back to checkin, and they told us our room was ready, they never bothered to call and let us know, or address the fact it was after our emailed check in time, or the time they verbalized to us. After pressing the issue, we were given two free breakfast vouchers to Starbucks. The staff at Starbucks were very cold and acted like they were doing us a favor.

The rooms and the view are great. The hotel itself is definitely four stars, but the service is better at most 2 star hotels I've stayed at. Most of the stuff is pretty small, but when added up put a damper on our stay. I would not recommend this hotel, there are plenty of other options out there. For a four star hotel, you expect friendly and accommodating staff. It felt like we were a burden on the staff when we got here. One of the worst serviced hotels we've ever stayed at.

Lots of fun taking ferry over to Savannah and back. Nice pool, beautiful flowers. Nice location and beautiful view from so many of the rooms between the river and other bodies of water and the golf course and the city. We did the green thing and didn't have the room cleaned; after 3 days we called in the evening to get clean towels, shampoo, conditioner and get trash cans emptied, expecting it would be the usual 30 minutes or more to get results. Literally in less than 5 minutes on a Saturday night we had 2 maids and a supervisor at our door, all extremely pleasant and helpful, not a hint of disgruntlement or false politeness. That is service. You can't ask for more.

Ironically the mattress didn't seem as comfortable as the one at the Four Points in Savannah.

Room Tip: Lots of views to choose from. Balconies are small but if you like having one, make sure you choose...

Hotel is pretty nice, but we were surprised at the lack of food choices - which is a bit of an issue as there is nothing else nearby. The only option (the bar) had just 4-5 menu choices and the staff there weren't interested in finding out if something could be offered for a vegetarian.

Main problem during our stay though was that housekeeping started cleaning the room next door at 10.30pm for an hour - this is fine, but they were so noisy, slamming the door every time they went in and out and shouting at each other.. The rooms are poorly soundproofed.

a chaotic front desk experience, a rude concierge, lunch in a bar that took 35 minutes to be served, and a boring room make me wonder what all of the fuss is about. i've now stayed at 3 Westins in the past month (Hollywood, FL, South Boston, MA and this one), and they all seem to be getting tired and/or are staffed by people just going through the motions. Westin used to be one of the premier brands in the Starwood family; now they just seem like overpriced Sheratons with nice beds. very disappointing and NOT recommended. a couple of the boutique hotels across the river are much nicer and less down-scale resort feeling.

Room Tip: ask for a river view room; the golf course views are dominated by the parking lot.

I picked this hotel based on reviews and pictures. The grounds are beautiful and we had a fantastic view of the river and cargo ship traffic . Staff was friendly and accommodating but the main restaurant was under construction and it was a little tough to get simple meal. Room service was the best bet. Breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing. I'm sure when Aqua Star is finished it should be a better dining experience here. I would recommend staying here just keep you dining options open. They really do offer a lot to their guests. Free parking, work out clothes if you need them, a great spa and golf course and free water taxi to take you across the river.

My husband and I brought our two small dogs on our visit to Savannah. This resort is actually across the river from Savannah, located on Harbor Island. This place is gorgeous and the staff is wonderful!
We found Savannah to be beautiful but a bit uneventful for us so we spent most of our time relaxing by the pool. During our stay we met many staff members including David, Brielynn and Mary. They were extremely accommodating and so kind to our dogs. We felt so at home, if we were fortunate enough to live in such a beautiful place. The resort provides a free ferry to River St.which is also dog friendly. My only suggestion would be to allow dogs to remain unattended in the room. We were unable to use that beautiful pool because the dogs had to be with us. Otherwise perfect!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view! Although the golf course is stunning, the river view not only shows the pool...
